You are entitled to your opinion, but you are about to be proven a fool.
Even the OU fans on Landthieves predict a very close game specifically because the obvious truth is the opposite of what you just typed.

UGA was 7-5 in 2016, with a bowl win against TCU bringing them to 8-5.

The Big-12... it just means less.

We beat that big bad #6 TCU team last year. They returned virtually everyone and he plowed them.
Couldn’t stop the Run.

OU made a great TCU defense look pretty slow and not really good...I think you’re gonna be in for a big disappointment
I actually root for SEC brethren in bowl games (except Bama)...but you’re in over your head

4-8 Iowa State, huh. Same as 2016 UGA record.
FWIW, that Iowa State team actually ended up being pretty damn good. They only lost one game by more than a touchdown. Almost inexplicably to Texas while playing at home coming off of a bye. Matt Campbell would have been a good hire for many of the SEC teams who were looking but his buyout was a little too high and Iowa State was correct to lock him up on a longer deal.
It doesn't change the fact that they were playing a converted LB at QB and the loss was at home for Oklahoma. It was a bad loss... but then again, losing by 23 to a rival isn't exactly a "good loss" either...
I'm on record as saying I like our chances, but anyone who just thinks OU is going to be massively overwhelmed probably isn't giving them enough credit. I see it as a 38-27 kinda game for UGA most likely. Tack on one more score for both teams possibly, but I anticipate we try and grind so much clock there are just limited total possessions. OU's offensive output against the 3 defenses most closely ranked with UGA's was about 31 points per game... UGA's offensive output against the 3 defenses most closely ranked to OU's was over 40... I figure both teams slightly less than those averages on the big stage to get to my prediction.
With that said, wouldn't be shocked to see either team win by 2+ TDs if the beginning of the game gets away from them with a turnover or something.

7-5 in the big 10 is not good.
That is what you call average.

Didn't look back but you may have missed the point. Iowa State was 7-5 this season as well... not 4-8 as someone indicated previously.

Bingo. Please be consistent. If you think 2016 Auburn without a solid passer is equal to or better than 2017 Georgia, you're being comically dumb.

What does UGA’s 2016 record have to do with 2017 Iowa State record?

great TCU defense
I stopped reading as soon as you made that statement. What the hell are you talking about? TCU defense is far from great.

I didn't make the comment, but I believe it was you who inaccurately commented with Iowa State's record as 4-8. Because Iowa State with 7-5 and UGA went 7-5 in the regular season, the previous poster was making a joke at your expense... something something 4-8 UGA in 2016.

Well..they are 19th...and that’s after OU but up some serious numbers against them. I would say “FAR” from great is being a moron on your part

ohhh okay my bad. I just saw this out of context and thought the person was saying that UGA's 2016 record was the same as Iowa St's 4-8 record, which apparently is not their record this year.
When I saw that I also thought to myself 'Wow I thought ISU did much better this year'
Apologies for the confusion. This thread is sort of all over the place, lot of different folks with hot takes.

TCU was pretty good defensively for a while but was slipping by the end of the season.
The better comps on the defensive end, no matter how you feel are Ohio State and Texas. It's possible that Georgia was helped by bad offenses, but not so much that "Georgia just had a bad defense that was mwah hidden by bad SEC offenses". I've really never seen that happen.
Like I've said elsewhere, these kinds of offenses just aren't going to get shut down, it's not happening. But it's possible to slow them down.
But where you really get into trouble is if you're sloppy and having stupid turnovers or momentum killer flags. That's how you get end up getting blown out against this kind of offense.

Well a team that went to the Sugar Bowl from the SEC should be better than what they showed against OU last year. I know Auburn didn’t have a decent QB, but my original post remains pertinent. SEC speed is not supposed to be a factor when you are comparing QBs, and that is what you are comparing in the above statement. The position players for Auburn have speed all over the field. You want to include injuries in the mix? Fine. I get it. Auburn was banged up, but OU was without an All-American WR and five star woman beater Joe Mixon last year. The point is OU can hang on the defensive side of the ball. Now if you go by individual position, you may have a point. But you didn’t state that in the original comment. Oklahoma has some pretty good edge pass rushers. Their DBs have been solid at times this year, but other times they have gotten gashed. Every team goes through peaks and valleys. I actually like UGA because i have family in Warner Robins. I just don’t think this OU team will be a pushover. That’s all. Chubb and Michel will bring it, and that should open up some middle routes to the tight ends or cross routes to the receiving corps. I think Fromm will have to have a big game if it is high scoring because each offense will put the pressure on the other team to not make a mistake.
