Congrats on the stellar recruiting class.

Congrats on winning the east the last 2 years. Recruiting doesn't mean anything if your coach doesn't learn how to coach on game day. Where did you guys finish in the east this year ? 3rd? 4th?

I'd invite you to look at how your favorite (I don't even know who, just pick someone) coach did in his first year EVER as a head coach. Kirby going 8-5 in year 1 is irrelevant to me, it means literally nothing. Everyone loves to trash richt..he went 8-4 his first year as a head coach and 13-1 his second.

As far as recruiting, as I've said...this is the best recruiting class we've ever had in our history. As in, EVER. This class doesnt' resemeble anything close to a richt class. You can downplay it all you want but this is the kind of class htat is going to spell trouble for the rest of the east, ESPECIALLY when you consider that UF/UT/SC are so incredibly, ridiculously far behind us.

That's the biggest issue for the East. They're getting left in the dust, talent wise. If Georgia starts stacking up talent, Kirby can simply be an average coach, UGA will coast for the most part, IMO.

Here's a history lesson. Last 5 recruiting classes:

2012:
bama- 310
UF- 287
UGA- 270

2013:
Bama- 319
UF- 291
LSU- 281
OM- 275
atm- 267
AU- 267
UGA- 260

2014:
Bama- 319
LSU- 299
atm-278
AU- 277
UT- 274
UGA- 273

2015:
bama- 309
UT- 285
UGA- 282

2016:
bama- 301
LSU- 291
OM- 281
UGA- 277

2017 so far not finished:
bama- 311
UGA- 300

Already without signing anyone else (and we absolutely for sure will sign more to add to our total) this will be the best recruiting class we've had recently (and in reality the best we've ever had). What really stands out to me though, is that if you take away bama (since they're in god mode and essentially don't count anyway) this would be the best overall class in the SEC the last 5 years overall. This class is insane, and the only reason it's not #1 nationally is because bama and OSU are having all-time classes.

Let's look at this class compared (currently, so I know it will change some) to the east:

UGA- 300

________

UT- 236

USC- 224

UF- 208

Once again...you can downplay recruiting all you want, but if kirby continues to stack talent like this it doesn't even matter if he's only an average coach, we're still going to beat people based on talent alone.

ANother thing about Richt's recruiting classes, they were rated top ten as previously said but usually 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th in the SEC. But beyond that, Richt recruited good skill position guys but struggled recruiting trench guys on the OL and DL.

Usually great RB's, Great QB's, Great LB's, Pretty Good DB's.

But the offensive and defensive lines would have like one 5 star and a bunch of 3 stars.

That's what Kirby is doing differently now. Recruiting elite, not just good, but elite, on the offensive and defensive lines.

ALL.OF.THIS.

We would get a stafford or knowshon or AJ in a class but sign got damn 1 offensive lineman.

Kirby learned from the best and knows that you win titles on the lines. Our OL class this year is likely the best (on paper of course, production is TBD) we've ever had, and if we get Solomon our DL is looking outstanding as well.

I'm not sure why you were directing that at me, because that was exactly the point I just made, almost verbatim.

I wasn't, I was talking in general you just happened to be the post I replied to.

I squeezed a lot of thoughts into that post. Also I'm trashed.

But that hasn't kept Paul Johnson and his 1956 style offense from beating UGA quite often.

Define....."quite often"

I'd say 2 of the last 3, qualifies as often.

Since 1990 Florida is 21-6 vs Georgia. I knew UF owned Uga, but I had no idea y'all were that inept.

So then UGA beats UF quite often since they have won 3 of the last 6.

Quite often is a rather ambigous term, wouldn't you agree? But, UGA losing its last 2 of 3 to a 1950's era offense is a bad look. Don't forget UGA is 6-21 since 1990 vs Florida, so you could say often, I guess?

I love the arbitrary dates you keep using. I say UGA beats UF quite often since they have 50 wins against them.

Didn't UF recently lose to a triple option team with much less talent than GT.

UGA has always had talent. That's never been their problem. Kirby, OTOH, has a ways to go before he's in the same realm as Richt as a coach.
