You think so....I don't know. That smash mouth football just isn't very appealing to me. Yes, Fields running would alone make Georgia's offense more productive, and also passing, but I'm not convinced Smart will ever deviate away from that boring possession control smash mouth football.

It’s not boring when the qb is throwing tds and running for tds. Fromm isn’t very good at either right now. Fields is.

Honestly, he believed that he could go in day one and beat out Fromm and Eason. Fromm was the entrenched starter who could run the offense Kirby wants better. Maybe Fields would have beaten him out if he stayed this year. But he had a bad attitude about it and a friend of the family is tight with OSU coaches and put the bug in their ear about transferring. It's worked out well for both teams and players. I have no ill will towards him and wish him the best of luck except when he plays UGA which hopefully will happen this year.

I used to think this way, but after a season of watching him play I had to change my mind. To me it's now blatantly obvious that Justin should have been made the starter.

The kid left because Kirby had him sitting behind a guy he was clearly better than. To add insult, when the starter did falter Justin wasn't provided the opportunity to win the job. That was a monumental mistake - one that may have cost UGA a national title.

Don't get me wrong. I like Jake as lot, but Fields is literally as good or better than Fromm at every single thing a QB does. Everything. Stronger arm. More accurate. More patient. Better under pressure. Better mobility. Better pocket presence. Eye discipline. Going through progressions. More consistent. Throwing from the pocket. Throwing on the run. Everything.

I really don't know if a system exists that Fromm would run more effectively than Fields. Also, with Fields' expanded skillset Coley could implement some concepts we've seen in the past that are currently missing from the offense. We'd be more dynamic - better running and passing.

Honestly if I were an 18 year old with his talent sitting on the bench last season while knowing I was clearly better than the starter I'd have had a shitty attitude too, and so would any real competitor. Not for nothing - all the fans around UGA circles intimating for no reason that he wasn't playing because he was somehow too stupid to grasp the offense had to have added to his frustration because he wasn't allowed to get on the field and prove them wrong. I don't blame him for being angry, and I sure as hell blame him for transferring.

At this point what's done is done. We still have a great team and a real shot at both an SEC & national title. However, I have to admit this UGA team with Justin Fields at QB is probably #1 in the country and the favorite to win it all.

Kirby is a great coach who will bring a national title to Athens. I'm sure of it. This situation, however, is the biggest frick up of his career so far.

Absolutely right. He couldn’t beat out Fromm and decided to take his talent elsewhere. Wouldn’t mind meeting OSU in the playoff. Fromm will come out on top again.

Kirby made the biggest blunder in Georgia sports history last year. He needed to just give Fields the starting job. Period.

It's very close to him looking like a laughingstock until the end of time.

And he was right. His only mistake was not realizing soon enough that Georgia has a potato coaching their football team.

There is no better QB in the nation than Fromm. A total game manager. He has caused 2 5 star QBs to transfer - despite incredible talent Jake was better.

mediocre offense for LSU.

And that mediocre offense will still be more than enough to bitch slap the dawgs if we meet anywhere along the way.

you really think Jake was better than Justin?
Justin couldn't read a defense. I don't know if he can now but he couldn't last season. He was a one read and run kind of guy. That wouldn't fly in the SEC. Or ar least not the SEC that exists in our minds where defenses are complicated.

You people really want Fields to not be an all-time frick up by your dipshit coach.

At least we haven’t had the likes of tattoo parlor guy and the Urban Cryer. Heard that OSU has the big crybaby teaching a character and values course. Yeah! You read that right! How surreal is that!!!

Actually, and rather ironically with regards to your blathering post, it was Fields himself who cost us a Natty.

You don't remember who had the ball in their hands for our last offensive play and completely fricked up? It was Justin fricking Fields. He dithered instead of snapping the ball immediately (because, of course, he DIDN'T READ THE DEFENSE QUICK ENOUGH) and blew an easy fake punt.

The kid was given chances. He wasn't ready and instead of looking inward, he blamed UGA. frick him.

I've only watched him a couple times this season. Physically, he's as gifted as it gets. Him going to tOSU sucks but he wasn't fixing the offense at Georgia. It doesn't do any good having a kid like that in an offense that wants to plod along and take time off the clock. If you think I wouldn't rather watch Georgia with your offense, you're fricking crazy. But that's not what Georgia is so I'm not going to cry over it.
I'll put it in terms you can understand. Georgia's offense is like that poverty pony. It does the job, most of the time, but it ain't fancy. tOSU's offense is like that uber expensive billet set. Everyone wants it but can't justify the cost. We good?
