I'm not sure why we're spilling ink on this. Texas kinda sucks. They have literally done NOTHING on the road that would suggest in the slightest that they could beat Georgia.

I don't think Georgia is all that, but they'll walk Texas by at least 14.

33-17 Ga.

That doesn't mean that it doesn't matter to UGA at all. It just matters less.

I agree with this. Georgia is still playing for a big prize but Texas is hanging on by a thread. I still think Texas has a decent chance of getting in with a third loss based on brand and name recognition alone. Especially if they beat an unblemished Aggy at the end of the year. Georgia just needs to win one out of Tech and Tejas and they are in a good spot.

Yeah I'm thinking GA by 10-14 with plenty of shots of Sark looking confused on the sideline.

Anything short of Arch suddenly becoming Peyton is a loss for Texas. No other way around it.

Honestly? The Florida game is where the Texas season hinged. If you win that game and lose only to Georgia and Ohio State, you are sitting pretty. Losing to a bad Florida team is what killed you. I guess you can argue that losing to Georgia would finish your season, but it would not make much of a difference had you beaten Florida.

Lose to Georgia, Ohio State and Texas A&M, you still have a shot at the playoffs, because three top 5 teams were who you lost to.

Lose to Georgia, Ohio State and Florida and...still not good.

Shouldn't the committee value good wins more than bad losses?

Notre Dame lost to Northern Illinois at home last year. Alabama is currently No. 4 in the CFP rankings and lost by 2 TDs against FSU (and the score doesn't even reflect how that game played out tbh)

I agree that Texas only has themselves to blame if they get left out at 9-3, but I also think they have a fair to have an argument if they finish 9-3 with 3 road losses (two to top 5 teams) with 3 top 10 wins (one against a top 3 team)

Absolutely. Because we failed to take care of business, we put ourselves into an early must-win situation.

All this chatter about a 3-loss Texas making the playoff is such chicken shite to me. At some point you should get what you earn.

80% of our fan base is already accepting a loss to Georgia and scheming some beta boy way that we will still get into the playoff.

Chicken shite. Whatever happened to Texans.

It'll be funny if we find our way in the playoffs and have to trip to Lubbock for the first playoff game. You know the committee will try to make that happen if we make the cut.

I would love for Texas (or even Aggie) to draw Texas Tech in the playoffs.

Why? I mean they should be weighed evenly in my personal opinion. If you have a good win it could be because the other good team you beat had a bad game, right? So, if you get beat by a weaker team, then you obviously had a bad game...so..

They will excuse a bad loss if it is early in the season, but your loss to Florida was much closer tot he middle when the kinks should have been ironed out. Just like ND this year...the first two games. (Of course, ND will get a pass every time anyway)

We'll just have to wait and see. I mean Texas still has Georgia and Texas A&M. You DEFINITELY need to split to have a shot, but if you lose both...

It's going to be hard for a three loss team to make the playoffs this year, to be honest. There are 20 teams right now with 2 losses or fewer.

I do agree, but in other years a 3 loss team would have made the playoffs if there had been a 12 team playoff. BUT, that is not the norm as a whole.

Well...they shouldn't. This seems like a tough game to me. Texas stops the run very well, which is our bread and butter. And if Manning gets hot, he can pick a defense apart. His problem is he also tends to get cold at times. But...I think this is going to be a bareknuckle fight to the end.

Hey...when y'all cam a lot on this board said Texas and Oklahoma would not survive. You have and have done well. Or as well as anyone else, so you've proven you belong...except to the trolls, and you will never prove yourself to the trolls.

5 weeks have passed since Texas lost to Florida. They’re 4-0 with two wins over top 10 teams. And still have three games left

Seems like that Florida game was pretty early in the season…

we definitely agree there. There is zero path to success for Texas if they lose 2 of their last 3 games
