Good teams have games like that every year man. LSU was only up 14-7 against Western Kentucky at halftime last night. Bama was only up 7-0 at halftime against MSU.

This thread is fun to read. I'm in now way prepared topronounce us #3 in the conference due to some of the obvious arguments our fellow Flasghippers have pointed out, but some of the "advantages" Arkansas supposedly has over UGA are hysterical

Lemme put it this way:

In a perfect scenario, Arky would beat LSU and Auburn would beat Bama and UGA would take care of business against Kentucky.

UGA would play Arky in Atlanta. I would feel good about our chances in THAT game, especially since this team has already experienced not only what it is to play a game in the Dome, but to lose in the Dome.

Make no mistake, this team has doen a 1-fricking-80 from the Boise and Carolina games.

Tyler was not on last night. Simple as that

Isn’t it nice to be able to score 49 points and put up 499 yards of total offense when your QB is off? And what do you think Georgia’s record would be if they had to play the three best teams in the SEC West; Bama, LSU and Arkansas? I think you could put three more losses on their record.

Georgia is looking better but they have a ways to go.

And youc could use the same sort of argument in favor of UGA. Good teams find a way to win football games, no matter the opponent. UGA has done so for 8 straight games now, and against an SEC schedule (be them weak teams or not; remember, Carolina had Garcia and Lattimore, Tennessee had Bray when we played them. Arkansas had the luxury of missing on all those key players)

Arkansas has averaged 42.5 points against USC the last two years including when we played USC last year in Columbia when they had Garcia and Lattimore. Bray wouldn't have made any difference last night.

Georgia has had the luxury of not having to play Bama, LSU or Arkansas.

Yes, it is very nice. I think Georgia would lose against LSU and Bama, and it would be close between us, hence the purpose of this thread.

Only thing is, I think we'd hang closer with bama than Arkansas did. Bama's D could shut our O down, for sure. As could LSU's. But our D can hang with any offense in this conference

You have no way of knowing that. What's the best offense you played this year? Boise probably

Dude. We just shut Auburn's Gus Malzahn offense the frick down. Less than 200 yards of offense for them and less than 100 yards rushing. This defense has been coming into its own, and now that it is completely healthy (Ogletree was out until the UF game, Robinson was out until Vandy, Rambo didn't play against Boise, Jarvis Jones and jenkins have been improving every game, etc.), it is a machine

That's not to say it can;t be beat, nor that it is better than LSU or Bama, but it is easily the #3 defense in the conference, arguably #2 at times

we gave up 7, and on gadget plays that Auburn had to resort to because they couldn't run it. Go read the box score. Auburn didn't have a prayer all game. Our Defense toyed with them

ETA I'm not saying that we're as good as Bama or LSU, but we're easily the #3 defense in this conference, arguably #2 at times.
