That's pretty damn accurate.

From what I've heard, Bennett Williams is playing boundary safety so Hill can play nickel.

I also don't think Greenfield is anywhere near the two deep.

Riley hasn't enrolled yet so I am not sure if he is transferring or not.

I think Shipley has moved inside.

DJ Johnson, Swinson and Funa will rotate a lot on the edge. You could almost put an "or."

Jabril McNeill played at ILB last year.

Corner depth is a crapshoot.

OK. My first question would be whom in your opinion is going to be asked to make up for the loss of Thibodeaux and his 47 pressures in 560 snaps? Seems from a lineup perspective from last year Funa and Swinson got the most snaps lining up outside of the opposing teams tackles.

Lanning has said that Swinson has progressed and developed a "go-to" pass rush move. Honestly, I have heard good news on all three of the edge players from DJ Johnson to Funa to Swinson. This is Lanning's group and there is a ton of raw talent accumulation on the edge.

DeRuyter sat back in a soft zone most of the year due to the injury bug.

Our ILB depth chart went from end of fall camp:

Mike: Sewell, LaDuke
WIL: Flowe, Mathis

To only Sewell by game 2. Flowe was replaced by a converted safety true frosh Bassa, true frosh Brown replaced LaDuke and a walk-on replaced Mathis.

That meant that Sewell could blitz less.

With Lanning's simulated pressures and a deep and healthy ILB group, we will make it up at all the linebacker spots.

So he wasn’t like Bennett then, who performed at an MVP level in the two biggest games of the year against the best teams.

Bennett feasted on Michigan and Bama.

First game for our freshmen who grew up fast.
Clemson d was elite.
Different qb.
Right guard out for season first drive.

This time I am sure you do not understand why this doesn’t help your point.

Those sound like excuse for underperformance. Seriously, Clemnson with DJU in the first half of the season was terrible.

However, my point is you can expect some underperformance in the first game. Touché

I’m a realist. I’ve heard fan bases like yours many times before. Y’all have no idea what a buzz saw you will be walking into. The SEC is a very different animal than anything you are used to seeing.

Their D was certainly not terrible, and the injuries and other issues were very real. I recall you whining about injuries earlier. Hypocrite much?

You're talking to someone that travels to Atlanta every quarter. I watched Stockton on TV in the Georgia High School playoffs last year. I have a bunch of friends in the Alpharetta/Johns Creek/Duluth area. Also, as a fanbase, we've played Auburn twice, Tennesse twice, LSU, and we went to the horseshoe last year (in the last 12 years). This isn't our first rodeo.

I am also spotting your team 15. Chill. The. frick. Out.

On both sides I’d imagine. Perhaps the team, with a completely new HC (not just new to your team) traveling across country to face the previous year champ might expect a bit more underperforming.

Our noodle arm QB will likely be chilling by the 4th qtr like he was most of last year.

When he puts in the dip, you can head for the exits

He seems like a nice enough guy. I certainly rooted for him in the championship game.

It can be both. Oregon can cause some trouble and still lose by 15. Like, they certainly can keep it close and lose gas in the 4th quarter.

Most of my responses are rebuttals to the "we are going donky kong on your arse and you won't know what hit you" type of posts.

I don't see it as a modern enough offense to be top 5 in the country. That's a big ask for a team that hasn't had an offense at that level that I remember in the recent past.

It was 9th in Points per game last year, 5th doesn’t seem a big leap.

Bradyn Swinson - 334 snaps w/ 11 pressures
Mase Funa - 411 snaps w/ 13 pressures
DJ Johnson - 132 snaps w/ 5 pressures

I don't know. Seems like a really big ask here to have one of the above three make such a huge jump especially in a game against a couple of top flight OTs.

With that being said, Lanning does know how to get the best out of his ILB in the pass rush as he did at UGA this year. How does Flowe's foot look like it's doing?

As a follow up to the talk of ILBs and their effectiveness, a huge part of the scheme that Lanning will bring to Oregon is having the DL be big and strong enough to command double teams keeping the OL off of the LBs leaving them free to flow to the football.

It doesn't look like Oregon's official site has the HT and WT for each player. Do you know of a good source for that info or is something like 247 or Rivals the best bet?

I don’t have to. I’m not Nostradamus and asking ppl to be in awe of my predictions by naming a number over the 10 pts/Gm y’all averaged. Your defense will consistently allow more points and yards this season than last years. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s closer to 19 ppg

You clearly didn’t watch the game. We had the ball the last 8 minutes of the game and kneeled it out if pity. Anyone watching it knew it was a 20-3 game.

Our 40pt O by end of the season tore up UM and beat Bama for the Natty.

So, don’t try to come on this board and play rope a dope about your team and pretend they are superior, when deep down you are on here because you think you will win based on homer’ism. It’s not a close matchup regardless of the players who left GA.

That’s our thoughts on the game.
