I'll ask the same question I ask of those LSU fans who want to run CLM off: who is better out there AND who would be a realistic replacement? Don't give me Gruden or Harbaugh, etc. A realistic replacement.
It really is as simple as this. It's easy to look at Bama and say "hey why don't we hire someone new and have that kind of success right away!"

e's from Omaha and it's becoming increasingly obvious with every season that it may just not work for him at UGA. I think he's a very good coach who would thrive at a place like Nebraska where he can still recruit fairly well and not have to live in the pressure cooker world of the SEC.
It's still a massive downgrade to go from UGA to Nebraska. And he's seemed to deal with the pressure pretty well for the last decade. Why stop now?

I'm not even sure why his name gets tossed around so much. He had some down years in the NFL. And success in the NFL doesn't always equate to success in college. Look at Bill Walsh.

I'd be happy if mark went to the corn fields

Not sure why a Vol fan would want them to keep Richt. The man has owned UT like no UGA coach before him.

Because he's a rah rah guy on Monday Night Football every week, but I agree with this. He's an unknown commodity; who the hell knows if he actually would be good? Besides 2001 Oakland (screwed by "Tuck Rule") and 2002 Tampa Bay, it's not like he was piling up the hardware in the NFL.

He has? He's taken two of the worst arse beatings I've seen in SECCGs (both against LSU, and the 2003 game was egregiously bad) and his teams generally aren't good when they're on a field with a team with equal or greater talent. Richt's teams are upset a whole lot more often than they are upsetting someone else.
I like certain qualities about Richt, but I have a lot of criticisms about him as well.

this. Imo the right coach could have Nebraska competing nationally every 4 years if done correctly

I don't know, I think Richt has done pretty well. It's not like UGA was winning titles every year before he got there.
