I'd say we win 9-10 games.

I agree. Which is still a good season considering all the possible departures. I just think Bama and LSU are poised for HUGE seasons in 2010.

Agreed.

I really dont know how to judge Meyer without Tebow being gone.

I mean, Leak was the starter in 06, but we dont win it without Tebow. Vice versa, we dont win it without Leak.

Eager to see how it looks in 2010. But 2009 is gonna rock, so we'll come back to this later

Yeah, it's looking a bit ahead. I'm hoping personally for at least 10 wins this year. But if we don't win at least 9, something really bad is going on.

Beal is doing well. However, the weightlifting bug got him and he may have lifted himself to DE.

He's really just stuck behind some pretty good backers right now. I think next year is his year.

I think this year is gonna be as telling for Miles as it is gonna be for Meyer in 2010.

That said, I see yall doing well this year.

Only one loss at home

It all depends on who returns. We will probably return 7 starters on defense and around 7 on offense.

Brantley will be a RS Junior and will we will have all of our returning starters on the O line back if the Pounceys return. We will have Debose and Thompson at WR and Rainey, Demps, and Moody back as well.

Losing Spikes and Dunlap will hurt but Meyer has recruited so well we have good depth at every position.

It'll be a interesting year.

If Urban there is to run his system barly any. THe big hit is going to come when Urban leaves. The loss of Tebow will hurt, but once Urban is gone Florida is too. He has all these pkayers suited for his system that wouldnt work in others as well

i'm pretty sure jelani jenkins, bostic, beal, will hill, janoris jenkins, major wright, deonte, the pounceys, rainey, demps, moody, hicks, trattou, etc etc etc would all work in just about every system.

i also do not believe the talent level of these guys will allow florida to drop off too much.

like previously stated, brantley will be a ready rs-Jr with experience running this offense. he will have a mature OL in front of him with many weapons surrounding him. he is no doubt a better passer than tebow, and not too shabby of a runner as well.

florida should be good for the next couple years. same with lsu, bama, uga, etc.

expectations... they're crucial to keep them accurate. if you have your expectations too low it's just as counter productive as if they're too high. fans have got to be positive yet realistic.

<and still always, always believe>

roll tide btw ;)

You don't have to buy what I'm telling you. You wouldn't have bought it before last year's game and you won't buy it before this year's game. In your mind, LSU is right behind UF, just a year away. But the truth is you should prepare yourself for at least two more years of uncompetitive beatings and hope UF recruiting falls apart for one or two years. The gap is that big.

And I'm not a homer. I just call it like I see it. Florida hit the recruiting jackpot between 2006 and 2008. They got lucky in qualifying their players, in the number who panned out, and in the small number of transfers and busts. Even some of the lowly-ranked players that Florida fans lamented signing turned out to be all-stars (Brandon James and Ahmad Black, for instance). UF is on an uncommon sort of run evidenced by title runs in 2 out of 3 years, and likely 3 out of 4.

I'm actually doing you guys a favor by telling you this. Instead of getting your hopes up based on faulty information, I'm actually giving it to you straight, so you can keep your expectations in check. It is painful as a fan to believe the hype and then find your team losing game the pundits say they shouldn't be losing. That's going to be the LSU fan's experience against Florida for at least the next few years.

He's not going to help.

You'll understand the meaning of the above three paragraphs about two and a half quarters into the LSU/UF game. Jordan Jefferson isn't remotely seasoned enough to find holes in what will be the best secondary in UF history (two future first round NFL corners in Haden and Jenkins and three All-SEC/All-American type safeties in Wright, Black, and Hill).

Jefferson will have to figure out a way to engineer long, run-oriented drives against Brandon Spikes and a defensive line loaded with excellent upperclassmen (Dunlap, Cunningham, Marsh, Sanders, Trattou). This simply isn't going to happen. UF is too quick sideline-to-sideline and will funnel everything into the middle of the defense. Blitzes will most likely come from the outside and LSU will have little choice but to run it straight up the gut, as Alabama and Oklahoma did against UF in 2008. Scott will get his yards between the tackles and may even go over a hundred yards, provided enough carries. But that will be it, other than your solid tight end grabbing a few catches due to the edge blitzing.

Your hopes rest on Florida beating themselves, because LSU certainly isn't capable of doing it. If you must beg Jesus for help, pray for rain, turnovers, and injuries, because those are the only three things that will keep LSU within 14.
