Stupid thread is stupid.

If the SEC goes to 9 games, Alabama, Auburn, aTm, and LSU are still going to play a major power 5 opponent OOC, so it will be equal for everyone.

I bet UGA and Auburn wouldn’t mind seeing the change.....DSOR.... but, it isn’t a continuous rivalry anyway and it would still be the oldest..,,

I really don't care if we play Tech. They could easily be replaced with a rotating OOC P5 opponent. It's also not a fun rivalry anymore, for me at least. We have everything in the world to lose, yet nothing at all to gain when we play them. FWIW: I'm also only 23, so the older UGA contingent might disagree with me.

Yes. We do. (I'm 33). This is an almost guaranteed win over an in state rival from a p5 conference. It's in our best interest to humiliate them and dominate the state. We don't need more unchecked competition. Don't forget they left the SEC and tried to come back.

You know that the SEC manages the schedule

Of course, with keeping interest of the individual teams. The league isn't strong arming the individual schools to make them all play conference games at the end of the season.
I'm quite certain UGA, etc. asked the conference to leave open the last week of the season, in order to play Tech.

No it's not. Georgia and Florida already schedule 2 out of conference Power 5 games a year. Add in an extra SEC game and it's a brutal schedule.

We played Kentucky the week before Tech in 2017.

Either the month of August sucks or you spread out the OOC.

People will complain just to complain. Too bad they don't look in the mirror.

Regular SEC games are an obligation to OUR Conference.

You need to, at least, see things from that perspective.

Your OOC "Games" in this regard are only benefiting yourselves.

Move such games as you see fit...but stop allowing it to mess with SEC schedules as a whole.

A 9 Game SEC Schedule would change the way things are played and offer a whole lot of opportunities for EACH team involved going forward. What is wrong with that?

Well that's their deal. We don't need to force the teams in the OP to drop those games just understand that sacrifices have to be made somewhere. They could drop them, they could move them to the beginning of the season and just play one major OOC, they could suck it up and play 2 major OCC. Their call,

Just give up one of the Cupcakes.

Why make the rest of the SEC try to fit these games in?

I like those games, and appreciate the history involved, but it completely handcuffs your actual Conference.

While we're calling out arbitrary bullshite, give up your precious Iron Bowl to let the SEC do the right thing and send your arse to the East like you belong. That game is one of the only things holding up conference realignment, amirite?

You don't comprehend what a 9th game actually means, do you?

It means more of the same. More average.

UGA does better scheduling P5 OOC than the conference would do rotating half of the conference.

Remember... half of the conference is below average. That is a fact.

I have no loyalty to playing vandy, south carolina, tennessee, mizzou, kentucky, Ole miss, arkansas, miss st, and a&m more often. What does that mean? Let's break up the divisions if rotating through the conference is that important (if it was... we wouldn't be adding more teams. But some idiotic fans don't understand that concept)

When it comes down to those ADs voting, they are going to be more in favor of keeping the 2 OOC P5 games than the 9 game conference schedule.

The reality is if you want a better schedule... then schedule better.

It is in each team's control.

I've never understood people freely giving up control and power to a larger organization (i.e. The SEC).

That is some leftist shite to bitch and moan about something within your own control and then want some higher power to tell everyone what to do.

Here's a thought lets take the cupcake Auburn plays between Georgia and Alabama and add that 9th conference game and see how Auburn likes that.

Something that I haven’t seen anyone mention; I am seeing more and more empty seats.... I honestly can see no way this Conference can allow 9 Classes of students to graduate without seeing a team from the other side of the league play in their Home Stadium.... just look at the interest in the Georgia-LSU game this year....10 years had passed... grief

Maybe LSU should make the CCG more often?

You do realize that your loyalty to playing Tech is below most all of these teams you list.

You do realize that Arkansas hasn't won a conference game all year.
In years past:
Tennessee went a whole season. Same for vandy. And kentucky.

Why should there be a demand on UGA's schedule to play the worst team in the conference more often?

That doesn’t guarantee that those teams would play ???? Puzzling?

If you want to play the east more often, then break up the west. You don't have a rivalry with arkansas. Trade off an arkansas to get south Carolina more often.
Trade off a horrible Ole miss to play Florida more often.
Trade off a miss state to see uga more often.

Are you picking up what I'm putting down?
