Should be a great game and I have a ton of respect for South Carolina fans...passionate and supportive whether the team is having a great year or not.

You missed the point. He didn't even get his last year in high school to season his skills. It's not an age but more of an experience issue. He came in as a guy who was going to play one more year of high school but didn't.

That’s a good point. Too bad Rooster failed to make it.

His entire post was about him not playing his senior year. How did he not make that point clear?

Poor choices of words? Calling him a kid implies he is younger than his natural class.

Where is the USCe hype coming from? And I like USCe. I know this sounds crazy coming from a LSU fan, but did they suddenly develop a QB?

Do you not remember the kuntiness of the Spurrier and Lattimore regime.

Well it starting to rear its ugly head after years of being humbled.

It all stemmed from this remark:

quote:

People forget he should have been a true freshman last year.

"Should" is pretty subjective. One could argue that he *should* be right where he is now that he is in the same class as people that share similar birthdates. As a coach's son, he's not likely to have played significantly less football or trained any less at his age than any of the kids who went through their SR years of high school.

Bentley is older than Stafford in his collegiate career (Stafford was 20 years old when his college career ended. If Bentley goes pro after this season, he will be 21 years old at the end of the season).

Age is nothing but a thing. What matters is the production that these kids give the university before their time is up.

The line at 14.5 or 12.5 is easy money on SC, but the easiest money is to take the OVER. Gunslinger with elite weapons in Columbia is a recipe for points points points.

That's what scares me. They o/u is probably going to be something crazy like 57 or 58.5 or something totally absurd based on both teams' week one efforts.

Problem is, how many times have we seen what looked like an obvious case for a high scoring contest ... only to see a defensive struggle once the game gets underway.

Plus we're both fielding a lot of new talent on the D side of the ball and both HCs are defensive minded, face in the fan, type coaches.

It would not surprise me in the least if these two defenses rose to the occasion and this turns into a good old fashion smashmouth SEC football game won or lost in the trenches.

Pretty sure UGA is going to have a stout running game.

Jury is still out on SC's ground game but there is a lot of optimism there among insiders for reasons already stated ad nauseum.

First have both programs will be trying to establish some dominance on the ground. I just hope mUSChamp doesn't over-do the conservative approach too much. Let's his boys take some shots.

Another thing. I honestly believe Special Teams will play a huge part in this game. We lost two games last year because of incredibly shitty FG kicking, or a lack thereof. We would have beaten both Kentucky and A&M if we just could have hit some FGs.

That's gotta change this year because points are going to come at a premium.

Special teams are going to be huge.
