Yes the legend of baby Benjamin Bentley is a fantastic yarn that Gamecock fans love reaching for. I think he is even younger this year.

The fact you're the only other person I've seen consider this is beyond me. It's almost a certainty in my opinion.

Damn.

We need a ruling here.

SCrooster, is this true?

True Sr - Kelly Bryant (21) ... born Sept. 25, 1996

Four months later:

True Jr - Shea Patterson (21) ... born January 17, 1997.

Ten months later:

True Jr - Jake Bentley (20) ... born Nov. 23, 1997.

Three months later:

True So - Tua Tagovailoa (20) ... born March 2, 1998

Four months later:

True So - Jake Fromm (20) ... born July 30, 1998

Seven days later:

True Jr - Jalen Hurts (19) ... born August 7, 1998.

Fifteen months later:

True Fr - Justin Fields (18) ... born October 6, 1999

True Fr - Trevor Lawrence (18) ... born October 6, 1999

You tell me. I know Bentley was held back a year academically (because they moved quite a bit) but caught-up and was able to graduate a year earlier than he was supposed-to ... older than most HS juniors but younger than most HS seniors.

He only played three years of HS ball.

Fromm played four years of HS ball and is only eight months younger.

Patterson is also a true junior, ten months older than Bentley.

Hurts makes it all unfigurable in my mind.

So you tell me.

I'm into facts and have no idea what any of this has to do with HS experience and graduation dates but I'll let y'all split hairs trying to figure it out.

I guess, if what y'all are saying is the metric we are using, then Fromm was obviously held back a year as well?

You tell me. Can't wait to see y'all spin this.

Hurts seems way ahead of his time. And who knew that Tua is older than Hurts, huh?

You tell me.

ETA: Added two taterhead QBs for the fricktard sheep humping sister banger that stuck his fricking nose into this thread like a good obsessed little taterhead ... we live in their heads rent free you know.

I'd take SC 1H cover at ~+6.5ish and UGA with the spread. Defensive minded teams have a way of hanging around for a half, especially at home. 4 quarters will be too much for the cocks though!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm .... that's not what the calendar says.

You do know what a calendar is, right?

You claim to know everything else.

I took the time to lay it out for you above.

Thank you.

It's a proven fact. There have beem studies done about it and evidently there are a lot of reasons for it being such a common malady among Sophomores.

The craziest thing is that it seems to affect both true sophomores and redshirted sophomores equally, regardless of actual age. It's a problem for second year players in the pros as well.

Very very few have avoided the dreaded sophomore jinx.

And the point of all of this?

I guarantee you Vegas takes note of Soph QBs going on the road in a tough environment for the first conference game of their sophomore seasons.

Happened last year to Bentley at Mizzou (not a very tough environment) ... Deebo saved us.

Probably has a lot to do with the amount of tape that is out there, thus allowing the opposing teams to adjust and find a weakness to exploit in the player's game. If the sophomore player isn't able to see those weaknesses and work on them, I imagine they're far more susceptible to the sophomore slump.

A player's personal work ethic and a detail-orientated coaching staff can most likely help overcome this type of slump.

Not saying Fromm is slump-resistant at all. Just saying that he is known as a hard worker and has probably elevated his game even more this off-season. Hopefully we can avoid that slump. Fields might be talented, but I'd rather bring him along slowly than to have to throw him into the fire like we did Fromm. It worked out once, but I'm not sure if we want it to happen again.

The calendar says he was born 11-23-97, Which is class of 2016. Jacob Eason was born that same week.

I think their fans think because the game is early in the year that we will have players suspended and that playing sandstorm will get into the players head.

Don’t USCe fans realize that Sandstorm went out with the 90’s. Embarrassing for the SECE.

I’m just saying, Georgia fans are sure quick to forget Kirby’s first year. He barely beat Nicholas state and choked against vandy and Georgia tech

And this is Boom's 3rd year...He's lost to KY twice. What's your point?

Guess who Kirby hasn't lost to? Let me think....Oh yea....South Carolina.
