The Big Ten wants 24 teams because it will allow Fox to bid on some of the CFP games. ESPN controls all of the rights at 12 or 16 teams.

I'm good with that, though I might wish different next November.

I'm also thankful Miami did so well, even though I do not like them at all. Shut Notre Dame up, to an extent, and reaffirmed for future the importance of head to head in similar records/resumes, no matter when played.

Bigger media deal and more money for the B1G to split up. PeTitti wants lot of B1G in the playoffs.

There aren't even 12 teams that are capable of winning a national title particularly when some spots are automatically designated.

I like a 10 team format. Play in game for seeds 7,8,9,10 for two teams to advance with 6 byes into the quarters. No auto qualifiers.. strictly based on an improved BCS model with the committee's standings just being a component of select polls using advanced metrics.
