Bill Walsh didn't exactly set the world on fire at Stanford so there is a precedent of successful NFL coaches not translating to college, although he was well into his golden years.
I always wondered why Herm Edwards name never gets brought in these coaching searches. He seems like a perfect fit for a college job IMHO.

The college and Pro games are still the same game. Just scheming on a whole different level in the pros. What will make the difference in the transition is if the head coach is a great teacher or not. That's what usually bites pro coaches in the arse. Gruden is known as a great teacher of the game isn't he?

Hogville is down in the dumps a little right now because some sources are saying Tim Horton will be named for this season.
Posted on 4/22/12 at 12:22 pm to wegotdatwood
Why would anyone be surprised at that?

If Horton is named interim then I will be more excited for basketball season that football season for once.

Because all their "sources" have been saying Gruden is a lock for days.

I'm not surprised but HV would be. They have a 260 page thread about him (JG) right now.

Question about Hogville, are they connected to KNWA and KARK somehow?
Posted on 4/22/12 at 12:29 pm to sms151t
Yes. Not sure if they own any part of it but they are an official sponsor of the site.

That right there should tell you what the agenda of station and site is. I think it's dumb that a tv station ties itself in with a chat board.

I can't stand hogville but it's good to throw a flame or two in from time to time.

Agreed. The site changed drastically after they teamed up. It became heavily moderated and any dissension gets you banned asap.

It wasn't bad back in the day. Now it's similar to Auburn Eagle.
Also, it seems every poster is mid 40's, wears jorts, and always posts some picture of himself and his son and everyone responds with "Hey, look! A future hog right there!" Or some crap like that even though he probably won't even start in jr. high.
