At FSU, Jimbo never had a top 3 recruiting class until 2015.

247 FSU 2015 Recruiting Class (Jimbo's 1st top 3 Class)

That year, FSU finished 10-3, finished at #14 after losing to Tom Herman's Houston team in the Peach Bowl, but failed to win the ACC for the first time since 2011 (and haven't won it since).

Jimbo then got another top 3 class in 2016

That year, FSU finished 10-3 with a #8 ranking after beating Michigan in the Orange Bowl. But they again, failed to win the ACC, and gave up 63 points to Louisville, the most points they've ever given up since Bobby Bowden was their coach.

With the two best top 3 classes Jimbo put together at FSU, what was the payoff of his recruiting success in 2017?

7-6 unranked finish, with a 35-3 loss to BC and only became bowl eligible because they re-scheduled a game that was postponed by a hurricane against UL-Monroe at the end of the season.
*(Jimbo resigned with two games remaining so he was actually 5-6 in 2017)
**(Jimbo's ex-wife Candi also allegedly slept with her Personal Trainer, a former Florida Gator player in 2017)

It seems, based on his history, that Jimbo actually does WORSE with the on-field product the higher his recruiting classes end up.

With these trends, should A & M be excited by this current recruiting class or concerned that the wheels are going to fall off?

Oh well, no point in playing now.

Somebody call Björk and shut down the program.

Jimbo resigned with two games remaining so he was actually 5-6 that year.

Are you suggesting that he forfeited that season?

FSU is poor, A&M is not.

Of course he did. Quitting is simply part of his (and Aggy's) identity.

Yet his first four years at Florida State went much better than his first four at A&M.

He managed to win more NC titles at FSU in his first four years than Aggie has won in the past 80

ACC vs SEC West. And Clemson wasn't elite until 2015.

Might not be a football school much longer under Norvell.

This would explain why he couldn't win the ACC after 2014, but it doesn't explain him giving up 63 points to Louisville (ok Lamar was good, but was he THAT good?) and getting blown out 35-3 vs BC.

I agree FSU is a joke, I hate them, but both facts (FSU is a poor joke of a program AND Jimbo is a poor joke of a coach) can both be true.

He probably mailed in the 2017 season after the Bama game (just like Mullen last year).

They're now a basketball school that has never won the NCAA tourney.

It was his offensive line that was his downfall…

Their supposed savior Norvell finished behind both UF and Miami in recruiting this year. Despite having a 2 year head start.

That happens when, like Miami, they fall victim to the dreaded "J Hat" and Neon Deion

I do wish they were in the SEC though because they will be good again eventually and will have a cake walk like Clemson has had the past 5-6 years.

I agree, but they will certainly lower the floor for the "worst fanbase" in the conference. At least the rest of the conference will understand the level of Nole stupidity we have to deal with routinely.
