Proves FSU is a 3rd rate program. They were not a top 10 team last year much less a top 4.

I agree, but I still think that they were screwed last season. They had every right to be in the playoffs. Irrelevant to your post, but still...

Anyone with 2 brain cells knew they were walking into a bloodbath with UGA, but the UGA players had as much reason to not play in that game as their players had. So no....I don't feel sorry for them one bit. And I'm convinced that even if they would have been full strength, we'd have still mopped the floor with them.

Only an aggie and FSU fans think this confused way.

Did you watch that ACC championship game? It was some of the worst football imaginable. FSU would have been a pointless addition to the playoff without their QB, and they proved it.

On top of that, 'Bama beat undefeated #1 UGA the same weekend. There wasn't really much of a discussion to be had after that.

I still say they should have been in over Michigan after Michigan's cheating was exposed.

This is giving them too much credit, they would've got boat raced in the playoff with or without their QB.

Georgia too, for that matter.

FSU screwed up bad. They could have played this right and had a stronger program for it. But they decided to quit and ruin all the goodwill they were getting from everybody. Now they'll forever be remembered as quitters and for 63-3.

Exactly. That loss, and the fact that they quit like absolute bitches, will stain their program for years.

Yep. Probably would have been more like 35-3.

Agree 100% and it isn't sour grapes talking. Cheating should have disqualified them from the playoffs. Georgia should have been in over them. Heck, FSU should have been in over them. Michigan was very lucky to be playing against Saban's worst team since 2007.

Yet they beat the brakes off LSU last season lmfao. LSU made FSU look like a Saban team or something. You your coach is overrated and is too finesse when FSU manhandles you all four quarters and makes you quit.

Well, they're 26th because they only have ten commits at the moment, one 5* and nine 4* (Rivals). That gives them a 4.1 star average, which at the moment is better than anybody else in the country. They're obviously going after big fish and some of those guys wait until the last minute to commit.

Looking at recruiting rankings (heavily influenced by total number of commits) six months before signing day probably isn't the best way to judge the state of a program.

If FSU played that UGA game with all its players and was at full strength I think UGA would have still won comfortably and playing its backups the whole 4th qtr.

Just my two cents, but I think their coaches probably preferred their players move on so that they could argue that wasn't their real team out there. How embarrassing would it have been to get blown out when you were saying you were one of the four best even with your QB out.

Maybe, maybe not. Do you have a list or are you just assuming?

FSU barely beat a 5-7 Florida team with both teams featuring their backup QBs

Proves revisionist history is a thing. An insulting bowl game that the team opted out of doesn’t define FSU. Last year FSU actually earned a playoff spot. Unfortunately the College “playoff” is an invitational exhibition tournament instead of a playoff so they were excluded for non on the field reasons. On the field their record was superior to UGA and Bama.

What it proves is that FSU was a team full of mercenaries. At the first sign of real adversity, they bailed on the Seminole logo. No one was a bigger quitter than the head coach, Mike Novell. You can't continue to throw a fit like a 4 year old, about being selected in the Orange Bowl to play Georgia and have it not affect the team in exactly the same manner. That turd destroyed their morale before the first practice.

Getting beat by 60 in that bowl is gonna stand forever. And it took a team of self-serving mercenary juveniles to make it happen. There are just a few times in this world when you get what you have coming. This was one.

And we laughed and never took it seriously.

Why start a thread over it though?
