Tom, you have to stop bringing up 06 with your tired old routine of "yea but he adjusted for Leak" the common theme on that team was Tebow. Tebow came in in critical short yardage situations and could not be stopped. If Tebow is not on that team it's another flop of a year just like 05, at least by Florida standards. I don't care if Tebow only played 5% of the time. That 5% was critical plays that he kept drives alive when most likely Leak would not.

The long and short of it is, I respect Meyer alot and he has represnted the conference well, unlike Saban , in the bcs games. But, I think defenses are starting to be recruited to stop what he does and he'll eventually prove to you he's in over his head. Just like his hideous SECCG 06 blunder that was covered up by the opposing teams bigger blunder. He gave up 21 unanswered points to a lesser talented team and he panicked and you could see panick in his face. He was bailed out by luck.

Don't even try to accuse anyone of having a "tired old routine" you hypocritical bastard.

Everything in your post is opinion, nothing but worthless conjecture from a certifiable retard.

well you are right. It is conjecture. For all I know Meyer might still win 10 plus games per year without Tebow. However, judging by his overall coaching ability I'm not gonna put any money on it. I'd put money on him being fired after 2 years post-Tebow.

Meyer has won all his life with a system that is about to not be so lucrative. Can he totally adjust to what he's always done and basically reinvent himself as a coach and still win the way FL is suppose to in the SEC? I doubt it.

I'm sure Meyer is in love with him in a manly sort of way. Meyer knows Tebow got him that fat contract. Meyer knows Tebow has covered up alot of his coaching blunders. Meyer knows he wouldn't have those titles without Tebow. Meyer knows when Tebow is gone it's gonna be a tough road to hoe.

i love the NYT financial section. their sports section (outside of NYC teams) is a joke, esp college teams. there are no college FB teams in the city. the spread, the SPREAD, THE SPREAD! i'm sick of hearing how innovation and unstoppable the spread is. all spreads are not created equal because all personnel are not created equal. the run and shoot got shot for a reason. the west coast offense died for a reason. if you can't run the damn football, you ain't winning a crystal ball.

The key to Florida's success isn't really the spread offense. That's a talking point for fans and the media. The real key to Florida's success lies in...

1) a great defensive squad
2) a once in a lifetime playmaker
3) being the big dog in recruiting the state of Florida for the last 5 or 6 years.

You will see Florida slip a little without Tebow, but not disastrously. When FSU or Miami can begin to cut back into the talent pool, THAT's when you'll see a definite drop off. Even then, Florida has a large enough population and enough athletes that it won't drop into oblivion. Florida will always be a staunch team unless they have some major screw up happen in coaching or NCAA probation.

Meyer won't be at Florida after the 2010 season. Bank on that shite.
