This isn't really in response to the T-Town Fashions deal but I think it's warranted. I used to read Clay all the time back when he did a blog called Deadly Hippos.

It should be pointed out that Clay, since his transformation to "Perez Hilton" has tried to shy away from his dedication to one school.

I will admit that there is some issue with the Ttown Fashions deal. Not at the level he is taking it though. It's pretty obvious where he is getting his information and it ain't from Cooperesque journalism. I mean there's even a place at the top of his website to "give us a tip".

Anyway I find this pretty interesting when put in context of Clay as a journalist.

I've never done a timeline for viewing a sporting event before. As a prelude, let it be known that my Tennessee football fandom is quite established both by blood (my grandfather was a defensive lineman for UT in the 1930's and became one of the first in a long line of Volunteer football players not to graduate from the school)

After Florida scored 35 consecutive points in 1997, my senior year of high school, I let loose a torrent of cursing that led to my banishment from the house for a "timeout"). So it was with considerable chagrin that I embarked upon the chronicle of a game of this magnitude given my past history of emotionally unstable behavior.

I like his new blog, but it would be funnier if he took a pseudonym as a UT fan. Like "Neyland Bob" or something.

So he's less of a journalist because he's a fan of one school?

I'm going out on a limb and saying there are plenty of ESPN personalities like that *cough* Schlabach *cough*

He's not a journalist. That's the point.

He's a smart guy with a great sense of humor and knack for writing. The problem is I believe he's got stars or the Power T in his eyes.
