Code language for Are Alabama and Georgia not gonna win every year? It's obviouly the end of college football if they don't. I like the new version since certain teams aren't allowed to cheat with impunity for an overwhelming advantage.

The irony of this coming from the fan of team that was proven to be directly paying players.

all they need to do is pay all the players a set amount and limit transfers

They were already doing that. It's called a SCHOLARSHIP. Regular folks have to get student loans or hope mommy and daddy saved enough to send them to school. Full scholarship athletes paid nothing. And they should just change the transfer rule to ONE TIME transfer only. Unless there is a hardship, otherwise only once can a player transfer.

According to Chex cheating ONLY started when Saban arrived in T-Town.

He might need to google Pat Dye and 60 Minutes, "the Ramsey Tapes."

Down at the barn, it's called selective memory syndrome. Very common affliction associated with that region of the state.

Never said it began with saban, only that the NCAA and Mark Emmert allowed Saban to cheat with impunity.

You mean the Auburn player that Alabama boosters PAID to beg Dye for money while recoding him?

We got that arse back the following year didnt we? Alabama set Auburn up and Auburn repaid the favor and neither programs were better for it. Albert Means anyone?

I mean it was business as usual down on the plains. The barn still holds the record for most visits by the NCAA. And both your present head coaches in basketball and football came with show causes. The tradition continues, so why bother with all the finger-pointing?

Once all the money is going to the players and players completely quit caring about the schools

How long has it been since college players really cared about the programs?

Here’s what you all do:

1. You give scholarships to kids that have questionable academic ability and character because they have otherworldly athletic ability. Then you wonder why they don’t value education.

2. You give scholarships to kids that live on the other side of the country. Then you wonder why they have no loyalty.

3. You put kids in a room with a $10,000,000 HC, a $2,000,000 coordinator, and a $1,000,000 position coach - all making bank off their effort. Then you wonder why they are not content with a scholarship.

The fans cause all this shite. You don’t want to see a 5’6” accounting major catching passes. You want a guy who’s going to be in the NFL. You don’t want to compete with in-state kids who might have all this beloved “loyalty” you keep talking about. You want to pluck kids away from Texas, Florida, and California so you can win big.

The college system as we knew it was bound to fail. It was inevitable. The fans care too much about winning and the coaches, administrators, and TV folks care too much about money.

Now everyone is wanting to blame greedy kids when it’s really the adults who fricked things up. You would rather recruit so-called mercenaries from all over to help you beat schools in states with 5x your population instead of being content with home grown talent and moderate success.

You have unrealistic expectations. You want scholars in NFL bodies who will storm Omaha Beach for your school.

When only a handful of B1G and SEC teams were paying players, no one was freaking out like this.

Was this what Jimbo was talking about when he got into his spat with St Nick?
