What Briles did is 1000x worse than Freeze.

Freeze wouldn't get close to the amount of media backlash that Briles would cause

I don’t want to go through several more years of Arkansas obsession if we hired Briles away from them. I think you meant Kendall and not Art.

If Urban went to Auburn after turning Texas down, I would be addicted to the Texas boards for a while.

I meant both. One as head coach, one as a coordinator.

Other than some alter, I haven't seen any Auburn fan actually think/want Meyer at Auburn.

He's got a law firm running an "investigation" to clear him in the Baylor mess. Travis reported that Texas Tech may be interested.

If it did happen though, bottom-tier Internet poster Tuscaloosa would melt the frick down.

Oh, a lot of people would.

I am not a Meyer fan. Thankfully, that won't happen.

ETA I don't really have a wish list right now. I didn't think Gus would be fired and haven't paid attention to any candidates. Cristobal intrigues me. He can recruit OL and that was a major factor in Gus' struggles the last several years.

Well then, I’m your daisy. I would be dancing happy if (and it will absolutely not happen) AU landed Meyer. I have said it before, as a fan, I don’t need a moral compass to coach a football team. That is up to instilling that at the home. Put pads on them and win games.

so you would want a HC that let the players run the asylum, at one place, and a known wife beater remain as a coach on staff at the other? You have a lot of gump in you.

No. I don’t. I just don’t need somebody to hold my son’s hand and be daddy away from home. I need someone that coaches football and is a proven winner. If I wanted someone to babysit my son, I would send him to the J.C. down the road and make sure momma had him home cooked dinners every night.

I hope you aren't a Dad then. That is the most moronic logic I have ever heard.

A Tech alumn I know is telling me that Briles is done to Texas Tech. He's one of their own, and they would forgive anything

Briles could still get a show cause. There’s a reason he’s coaching high school football right now. No one is touching him
