Maybe back in time for Ole Miss game?

Pinkel: Franklin out 3-5 weeks

Says ESPN report was wrong as usual.

Pinkel said he read injury report on ESPN Saturday night. "It was wrong as usual."

Says if it was his left shoulder, he'd only miss one week.

Pinkel said if shoulder injury was to left shoulder Franklin would only miss one week

The pain wasn't bad at all. I knew he'd be back in only a few weeks.

Best case, he's back for Kentucky. My guess is that if Mauk is playing well, they'll give him that game to continue healing as well. They'll want to be careful since that shoulder was surgically repaired.

Or off by 3. Depends on how he rehabs I guess. My guess is even we won't see him before the next bye week regardless.

Always hate seeing players get hurt. Hope he gets back to 100% soon.

That's great news for Franklin, but that still means he'll be out for UF and SC, their 2 more important games going forward.

The two worst seasons I can think of in recent memory were when Gabbert was injured after the Suh dirty hit/twist and last year with an injured Franklin. Our offense is too reliant on great QB play to function with an average or injured QB, really hope Mauk is ready to play.

We need Mauk to manage the game. Distribute the ball to the weapons. Limit mistakes. For him, limiting mistakes may be the biggest question. But he's behind a solid OL, and has a ton of weapons at his disposal. I'm choosing to be cautiously optimistic.

Not to be harsh, but I don't want him back at 90 percent. They said he was ready at the beginning of the season last year. He wasn't. I would rather stick with Mauk the rest of the season and give him the play time to be a great qb next year, unless Franklin is 100% with no hesitation.

James is a child of Christ. He does not even take Advil. True story.

Guess you didn't pay attention last year. Franklin's dad became a minister after his NFL days, and the kid is devoutly religious. He doesn't take pain medication if he's offered the choice. He refused shots last season, doesn't believe in masking the pain.

Franklin doesn't believe in painkillers or medication. He would never let it happen.
