Dinardo deserves credit for reviving interest in the LSU program. Between Archer and Hallman LSU was in big trouble. Yes, he almost brought LSU back down because of poor coaching hires, but he did very well recruiting, and if he didn't build a good team back in 2000, Saban probably wouldn't have taken the LSU job.

Stallings isn't remembered as an all time great, mostly because he only coached in the SEC 7 years.
But he averaged 10 wins a season over that span, when it was a lot harder to do, and proved Bama could win national titles without the Bear.
