I haven't really kept up much on Liggins but a lot of LSU fans think he is ours to lose, fwiw.

Thats because LSU fans look at recruiting against OM and state as a joke and if they really want someone then they will get them if only the MS schools are in their way.

They think that if a recruit has LSU in their top 4 or 5 then they are LSU locks.

I'm not saying I agree. I know more about MS than 99% of the LSU fans around here and I know damn well it isn't like that. How many elite kids have left since Mullen & Nutt have been around? you can count them on one hand.

I'm just gonna go ahead and assume that we don't get anyone that we really want. So maybe I'll have one or two things to be happy about in February.

Basically, they want an AA coach that will hopefully levy some sympathy from the NCAA and he'll act as a caretaker until the program is off probation. Kinda like what MSU did.

They also thought CJ would decommit from State and go to LSU, but when he did decommit they were hell bent he was LSU bound. I dont think he ever even visited there.

Rumored

There are no rumors. UNC already said they are having an interim this season from in house and the new AD, who has not been hired yet, will select his coach.

Croom could definitely be a decent coach somewhere. Just because he didn't win at state doesn't mean anything, it's Mississippi state. No coach on earth could turn that shite hole of a program into anything. Mullins should be his biggest fan, he has won thanks to crooms recruiting.
