and your assertion to this point is hyping an unproven commodity.....are you aware how many 5-stars fail, much less become one-in-a-million, HOF type players?

oh, and make no mistake, aTm is no Auburn.....Auburn has a far better pedigree.

How has having the number one QB at USC worked out? Doesn't matter much if the rest of the team is lacking.

Some players you can't replace.

i agree w/ the OP...TAMU being the SEC presence in Texas will keep them very relevant in the SEC title conversations. They're not going anywhere.

Agree as well. Aggie should be able to hang with the Sips on getting talent with their recent success and being in the SEC. Kids here like Sumlin and want to play for him. However, they are gonna have to change some things up on D. Maybe a new DC net year?

Howd the #1 QB (Vince Young) do at Texas. Cmon

I agree it doesnt mean much now but 5 stars pan out more often than they dont, otherwise recruiting services wouldnt still be in business.

ETA: We are loading up on young talent. They just arent physically ready for the SEC yet.

Depends, is it the overrated Sumlin who only ever lucks into great QBs and actually isnt much of a coach or is it the Sumlin thats so good that the rant prays he leaves for the NFL?

Isn't this kid projected early in the MLB draft?

Id never even heard he plays baseball. We had a high rated QB commit get drafted top 10 this past cycle though.

Don't sell yourself short.

It is a good target but you are years away from that.

Is this the part where I say 3-0 and 63-21? Am I doing it right?

Very few people blame Snyder, he just doesn't have a lot of talent to work with. Sherman left some great offensive talent in the cupboard but the defensive cupboard was pretty bare and A&M has had some bad luck with some of the few top recruits they did get who either got kicked off the team or having injury issues (and Polo died in a car crash). Very few Jr's and above that were better than 3 Stars. We just don't have SEC depth yet to overcome all of that, last year we got very lucky to stay healthy on D and had stronger Sr Leadership. You can't really do a lot to coach a guy to be a pass rusher for instance, they either have it or they don't and right now we just don't have much in the way of guys that can get to the QB whereas last year we still had Demontre Moore. It's one thing to start Freshman but it is quite another to start Freshman all over and most of the kids that were supposed to be "leaders" got in offseason trouble causing suspensions.

If there isn't significant improvement next year though with the big and deep class of last year as Sophomores and RS Fish and the incoming class of studs there will be some heat applied for certain though.

On the very bright side for A&M, it looks like Cedric Obueghi is going to return for his Sr season and move to Left Tackle! That's huge for the continuity of our Line (essentially we will "only" lose Jake Matthews). Really nice to break in a new QB with a strong OL to protect them.

Maybe that's what I'm thinking of.

The Stewart kid.

Yep, I am not reading all this bullshite. Let me just follow the example of SEC Rant greatness and be brief:

We don't know what the frick Kyle Allen is going to do at A&M. He could be great. He could suck massive amounts of bat-shite covered dong.

Tap. The. Brakes.

Really hope Kyler Murray ends up choosing us, which I believe he will, by the time he gets here the recruits we need on defense will be here and he will be ready to take over the show, JFF 2.0..SEC, prepare your anus...

I also am more excited about Kyler than Kyle Allen. Kyler's Dad is still my all time favorite Aggie player and his son looks like he could be better (Dad was a 2 Time 2nd Team AA QB). He's only 16 but he has a more complete skillset than you will see in most college QB's. Only knock is he is still small but he is growing. LINK
