take out lost yards from sacks and you’re 132 out of 136 in yards per carry allowed at 5.8 yards/carry :(

I mean some of those stats are fine if you want to obsess over them but they are flawed. For instance Elko plays to win games not for stats. Several times he could have poured it on and didn't. Other times he was just playing conservatively and making the other team burn clock not worrying if they scored so long as he had the game in hand. Had he decided to punch it in against Mizzou at the end and they win 45-17 maybe they jump Indiana. If he played tigher on Arkie or LSU late he may have stopped the last second TD's that were meaningless. He also rotates the hell out of his players and likes to protect his starters and keep people fresh, that pays off in games like Mizzou and Florida.

Maybe he unleashes the dogs on USC or Samford just for fun but I doubt it. My guess is he gets his 2 score lead on USC and just squeezes the clock and against Samford he plays reserves most of the game. Listen to the guys that really played ball or coached when they talk about A&M. They play at an extremely high football IQ on both sides of the ball and they don't panic. There is a reason they are such a complete team and Elko gets pissed when people try to compare them to past A&M teams, this is a completely different animal than the Jimbo era much less before him.

I honestly will be surprised if they aren't 13-0 going into the Playoff, I'd say that is more likely than not. You can bag on the schedule if you want but no one has controlled games like they have and several of the wins over "bad" teams were when those teams were still playing for something and came out playing with a lot of effort only to be crushed as the game went on. I guess we will see.

After “well this team is terrible. Brian Kelly is the worst coach ever. So it’s not really even a win for A&M.”
