And OM beat Bama. Teams drop games they shouldn't. It happens.

Especially with the Tennessee being a rapidly growing state undergoing a talent boom and with our proximity to just about every populated area. We are close to several major cities - Nashville, Charlotte, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, DC, and several others are all close enough to recruit regularly from. A lot of times we are closer for an out of state kid than their in state school.

But kids are just dying to get to the bustling area of Auburn, Alabama. Lol

What I don't understand about that recurring theme is that we're starting to outproduce smaller states like AL and we've never had a problem recruiting nationally. It makes zero sense from any angle.

The problem is, you're so far from the hot recruiting areas in your own state, that there's multiple SEC schools that are closer. Atlanta isn't too far, but there's still several schools closer. It's not impossible by any strech, but not as easy it you'd like to make it to bebe.

What recruiting areas as we far from? Nashville is close by and is where the talent is booming. The rise of instate talent isn't happening in West, TN but in Middle, TN and to a lesser extent East, TN. UT has never relied on Memphis as ALL of the cities I listed are closer than Memphis but it hasn't stopped us from pulling some of their best out of there when we've really went after them.

As far as recruiting the Atlanta area and Nashville area... Might wanna check our roster.

who gives a damn about this game? I'm almost 60 and can't remember this game ever being relevant.

Well you're either a mentally challenged or have been drunk your entire adulthood ( or didn't think football mattered until the year 2000). I'm just under 40 and can remember a bunch of significant games.

Outproduce AL? No. Maybe some other small states. Fulmer did excel at recruiting the whole country.

2016 Rivals Top 250...
AL: 6, 8, 9, 127, 179, 198.
TN: 86, 181, 204

2015 Rivals Top 250...
AL...19, 46, 47, 81, 130, 139, 148, 192, 211, 244.
TN: 12, 32, 92, 103, 138, 218, 242, 249

Sorry about the Alzheimer's. If you still had your memory, you would remember that as recently as the decade of the 1990s, TSIO had national title implications virtually every season.
