What part of SOS is the reason you get the benefit of the doubt at 9-3 do you not understand? IF SMU beats Clemson you are in over 10-2 Miami, 10-2 BYU and all the other 9-3 teams. JFC

Greg Byrne was arguing for not having two Power 4 OOC games on the schedule. Which Alabama does each season starting in 2025.

So, Alabama is complaining about a 5-7 Wisconsin team and an upcoming game against 2-10 Florida State?

The part where Boise St is the #3 seed with a bye.

More about future schedules that currently have notre dame and Ohio state in the same season. Great for the fans but maybe an unnecessary risk given how SOS really isn’t considered by the CFP committee.

On top of the same SEC schedule they played this year.

I agree that the top 4 conference champions should not get a bye, they should just get an auto bid along with the 5th ranked conference champion. BYEs should go to the top 4 ranked teams.
So Boise would still be in with them being a "top 5 highest ranked conference champion". Even if you got your way and they were somehow ranked behind Clemson. They're still in.
What does that have to do with Bama being left out at 9-3? You can't actually believe Bama deserves to be in and Boise left out.

Boise St's best win using FEI rankings.
#44 UNLV.
Boise St being ranked #22 themselves.
Now, let's do Alabama.
#8 Georgia
#12 South Carolina
#17 LSU
#34 Missouri
#42 Auburn
#43 Wisconsin
Yeah, the same Wisconsin people are giving Alabama shite for playing next year just a few points above me is rated as a better win than Boise St has for the entire year and it's Alabama's 6th best win.
All you DEI pieces of shite can go frick yourselves.

all three losses for bama was SEC teams. ridicouoas. he is embarassing himself

So, objectively, you really think Alabama should have gotten in? Because I've talked with a lot of Alabama fans who feel like they didn't deserve it. That Oklahoma loss was bad. Really bad.

Can you do SC too, please?

He knows that. We all know that. The point is that strength of schedule doesn’t seem all that important to the committee. So why play tough OOC games in FUTURE seasons? That’s what Byrne is saying.

South Carolina has just as good of a resume as Bama.

Not sure how playing fewer OOC opponents of value helps.
Because he’s talking about future seasons, not this season. He feels that the committee doesn’t value strength of schedule, at least not very highly. If they don’t value SOS, then there’s really no point in playing tough OOC games. Again, this is about the future.

It's more than that. The bye weeks, etc.

So, yall may cancel future games against Ohio State and Notre Dame?
Posted on 12/9/24 at 11:21 am to PrattvilleTiger
Should have never lost to Vanderbilt and an injury riddled Oklahoma. Take care of business and it doesn’t come down to these arguments. But the entire CFP is flawed while it’s set up this way. I can’t say Alabama was screwed. But rewarding awful schedules is not something I agree with either.

You're not making any sense AND you're proving my point. That's why you're in the conversation at 9-3. Seems like you just want a BIG10/SEC playoff. Which in that case there's no point in talking to you anymore. If you're mad about it. Just say that.
Some teams are judged based on merit.
Some teams are given DEI handouts.
You can keep pointing to the group of teams that are judged based on merit like with Alabama, Ole Miss and USC all day long. It's not going to change the fact that others are judged by a different standard because of their perceived place on the hierarchy.
Yeah, we spent all week last week arguing about these teams BASED ON MERIT.
It is DEI. That is why you or anyone else has NEVER ONCE pointed out the resume of these other teams. You'll point them out among Alabama, Ole Miss and USC all fricking day long. But you sure as hell won't do it for Boise St will you? You sure as frick aren't doing it with SMU or Clemson are you?
So if the only thing you can do is point out how this group of teams has SoS while ignoring all the ones that don't, then go frick yourself.

Fair enough.
So you think the playoff should be 16 teams?
