what about the other 7 losses?

You guys are idiots. One game.

fricking look at all the injuries last year. Our best offensive player, best defensive player, AND best special teams player gone after 3 games last year.

What the frick do you expect? Yeah, thats no excuse to losing to GA Southern.

But acting like LSU, or any team going to the Swamp this year, shouldn't be afraid because "GA Southern won there last year" is dumb.

Two years ago, LSU came to the Swamp with a new starter at QB, ranked #3 in the nation, and lost. I think that's more than enough reason to believe that any team coming to the Swamp should be worried this year, especially given that UF PROBABLY won't have another catastrophic injury filled season.

Oh, and a UGA fan making this thread after how many injuries that they had last year? LOL.

Indicative of playing a very tough schedule with a ridiculously injured team?

Losses to:

14-0 FSU
12-2 Mizzou
11-2 USCe
10-3 LSU
9-4 Vandy
8-5 UGA

It happens.

That's like going back to LSU 2008 and everyone saying: OH shite ITS OVER, LES MILES SUCKS AND LSU IS DONE AS A PROGRAM BECAUSE THEY WENT 7-5!

How did that work out?

Curious, most of your fanbase/media is calling the Mizzou game the "threshold of acceptability" this season, do you see that as larger indicator than the Tenn game?

Given the schedule a 4x loss to Bama,LSU,USC,UGA is entirely probable, so what's the benchmark line you need to see from this team for Will to stay?

LSU - 1 score game in 4th Q
UGA - 1 score game in 4th Q
USC - 1 score game in 4th Q

As shitty as last season was, UF had chances to win/tie up those 3 games, so no, there isn't a "benchmark" that Muschamp has to meet.

And somehow Georgia didn't lose eight games

LSU 2008

Still beat Auburn and South Carolina at their places and won a bowl game. big difference.

Sure Florida could be Auburn '13 since they have the recruiting classes to make that a potential, but I liken them more to LSU in 1999 with Gerry DiNardo coming off a disappointing 4-7 year but poised to rebound with another great recruiting class and Lou Tepper's vaunted drop zone defense entering its 2nd year. We didn't win a conference game that year until DiNardo was fired.

New OC Kurt Roper has been Cutcliff's assistant/pawn for most of his coaching career. That's not to say he can't be successful on his own, but there's certainly no evidence to suggest he can run the (shite)show he has been given.

Installing that kind of offense (hunh)from scratch takes more than 30 practices to make it effective. I just read in an Orlando Sent article that's the total number of practices he'll have with the offense between arriving on campus and game 1. Actually, article says less than 30.

LINK

QB Driskel hasn't impressed anyone because he was either injured or because the offensive system sucked. Excuses excuses. Sure, maybe this new offense and a healthy year for him could mean he'll be a great quarterback! But there is zero evidence to show he'll be anything but mediocre. It's all we've had an opportunity to see.

Florida has recruited well, they are loaded with talent, and the defense doesn't seem to have any question marks at all. That's their only bright spot.

Problem is your offense still has to score points. We all hear constantly that "defense wins championships"..... but I say offense gets you to the championship. Remember 11-1 UF in 2012? Great defense..... shitty offense.... great record, great defense might have won them the championship but shitty offense, unable to score on another great defense, 2012 UGA in this case, kept them out of the SECCG.

So you Gata fans can pound your chest and chant D-Fence all day long, stroke yourselves talking about the intensity that Muschamp brings to the program. Bask in the glory that is remarkable recruiting year after year.

But please shut the frick up about Kurt Roper and Jeff Driskel.

White trash Florida fans have too much mercury on the brain from eating too much kingfish to understand that an objective observer sees USC and Mizzou in a current state of maintenance while UGA, Tenn, and UF are rebuilding quite a bit. Throw in the fact Florida has to play LSU and BAMA, and it's easy to conclude that Florida has too much to overcome to be world-beaters right out of the gate in 2014 with a brand new offensive staff including a coordinator from Duke.

Duke.

Your head coach is a psychopath and FSU is still on your schedule too.

So the topic title is "florida will fail" ...

It's not a troll, it's true.

Maybe Florida makes a bowl game, maybe not.

Bookmark it and bump it after Florida wins the NC next year. You can show to the world that ol deeprig is an idiot.

Until then, shut up about Roper and Driskel.

Since you are so good at giving facts about the future, can I get a palm read and today's lotto's numbers?

Lotto numbers are random.

Predicting Florida's future is not. There are clues to Florida's future, like Muschamp unable to handle the responsibilities of being a big time head coach and Roper with his head spinning trying to install a new system in less than 30 practices. Then a really tough schedule. Keep adding up the clues.

Is 8-4 a successful season in the minds of Gator fans? Playing Alabama, FSU, LSU, and all the usual east opponents is a tough schedule.

If UGA had lost Aaron Murray at the start of their third game (similar to Florida), they would have had a catastrophic season, with, at best, 6 wins. At worst, the wheels could have come off very similar to Florida when you add in all the other injuries UGA had. Even with Murray they barely beat LSU and UT, and I bet those are both losses without him. The Florida game is certainly in doubt as well. They would have lost 4-5 games in a row in the middle of the season.

LSU in 2008 almost lost to TROY at HOME. They needed the biggest comeback in LSU history to beat TROY AT HOME IN 2008!!!

LSU should have been 6-6 in the regular season that year with a loss to Troy, it was a miracle that they had a 7-5 season, and they didn't have HALF the injuries that UF suffered in 2013.

Florida just has to be better. If the team is obviously better, I believe 8-4 is enough for him to stay. The schedule is tough, we all know it, and some allowances will be made for that, AS LONG AS the team does not look like absolute shite winning those 8 games.

Roper actually changed Cucliff's philosophy on O. If you think Roper isn't a damn good OC, you are fooling yourself.
