2020- Drink’s first year, the pandemic, Florida had a high powered offense, game in the swamp. It was the only lopsided game between UF-Mizzou since Drink was HC. Mullen dressed like Darth Vader in the postgame presser.
2021- Revenge of the Nerd. Mizzou was not having an amazing season and Florida was unraveling under Mullen. Not a great game in terms of how well each team played, but was entertaining and Drink, despite having conservative tendencies in general, went for the win by going for two and ultimately struck the dagger through Dan Mullen’s SEC career. Hilarious trolls of Mullen ensued post game and the Monday after when Mullen’s termination was announced.
2022- in the swamp. Neither team looked impressive but Florida had chances to put it away in the 4th but Patrick Toney’s defense kept shitting the bed and the game ended a one score game with Mizzou failing to convert a critical 4th down that could have given them a chance to tie it.
2023- This was the year Drink started getting over the hump. In what turned out to be a great season for Mizzou, this game in CoMo against a terrible Florida team was a bit of a battle. Like the previous year Florida gave up tons of 4th down conversions, even with a new DC in Austin Armstrong. However unlike the previous year, Florida had a chance to seal it on 4th and 17, but Mizzou converted it this time and pulls off the W. Mizzou went on to beat Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl, Florida missed a bowl game going 5-7.
With conference expansion that was the last year that this was a yearly match up as divisions were no more.
It seems besides the first season, this has been a close tight contest regardless of how good or bad the teams were on that particular year.
I expect more of the same this year.
It seems that Hardy is still projected to be out this weekend

If that holds, I’m leaning toward a close Florida win (but fail to cover the 5 point spread). If Hardy were to play, I’d say it’s a toss up.

Hardy has as much of a chance to play for Missouri this week as Tebow has for Florida.
