They might think differently if you go 5-6 this year and miss a bowl again, which looking at your schedule is very possible.

There's no real difference between 5-6 and no bowl, 6-6 and a bowl or 7-5 and a bowl Florida has a new head coach and a horrendously bad season in any of those scenarios.

Florida just weaseled its way out of doing what every other team has to do because they are scared of playing a team they used to dominate without a bye week.

good god man are you friggin' crazy? the logistics of changing the game date just don't add up for ANYONE.

That's a good question if, due to the "no contest", they have to sit out this game.

"They will be back this week with us," Muschamp said. "Not just as far as the suspension of a game, but they've handled a lot of other things for me, as well as Demarcus Robinson, who had a university sanction that's been resolved."

Given that they can't keep a field in playable condition during a rain storm, it doesn't shock the conscience that simple logistics would cause them a problem.

I guess LSU, ASU, and the Northern Part of Texas Mean Green are just better at these types of things.

come bowl season...no matter what your record...you guys are going to be judged for this

And every bowl season, the network "talking heads" discuss wanting teams to have harder schedules and how playing cupcakes don't account for much. If we get into bowl conversation at the end of this season, I can assure you they will factor in our only playing 11 games...and it won't be for negative reasons.

Keep it up. There are rules when playing with lightning strikes. The lightning strikes went past midnight. Our field drained quite well.

How does UF only have one bye week? Everyone keeps saying the only option was before the UGA game...shouldn't everyone have 2 this year since there are 14 Saturday's?

They likely only share one bye week.

Oh ok....well I know LSU isn't going to the big A either. The L to UF in the Swamp will hurt and sting some.

Fair enough. But if this were a game against Auburn would you still just brush it aside? We play San Jose State next week and anyone on our roster could get hurt...but at least we took the risk and actually played the game. You guys just got a freebie and you know it.

Florida decided to pay them off so they didn't have to play the game before the cocktail party.

So to recap, Florida will forfeit the money to Idaho and the gate to the game to ticket purchasers to avoid playing 12 games this year.

Does this make Florida change their policy about no OOC games outside the state of Florida?

I think they should have played the week before the GA game. They have no chance in that game anyway.
