Bama's defense got shredded by UGA in the SEC title game and by A&M last year.
08 UF was just as good offensively.
11 bama shut down LSU's offense. Really?
09 bama owned UF but UF lost both Harvin and Murphy and had Addazio as the OC.
08 UF with Harvin wouldve busted that SEC title game against bama open.

Even the smartest LSU fans will tell you that offense averaging 40 a game was a fluke.

Wow, I really wish I had read some of this thread before my first response.
Just a question, how is it possible that a team AVERAGING 40 pts per game over the course of 8-9 games (could be off by 1) could possibly be a fluke. A 40 pt game could be a fluke, but a 8 game average is just that, an average. It's not really possible to call that a fluke.

LSU had the 57th ranked offense in 2011.
Yes I'd say averaging 40 is a fluke or miracle especially with JJ or Lee as Qb.

Yes, you are currently down. Under myers Florida was arguably the best or second best team in the country every year. Now they aren't even in the discussion and you bragging about possibly being a top 5 team is proof. Under Myers, saying top 5 was an insult, much like Alabama currently.

The Problem is that saying an average stat per game is a fluke is by definition a ridiculous statement. Flukes are something that happen once just out of sheer luck. An average over a span of several games is neither sheer luck nor something that only happened once.

Go check the stats on where those points came from.
Then go look at the stats from the SECCG against UGA.
LSU's offense was clearly better than last year's, but it was not a 40 ppg offense.

Not being nitpicky, but everyone knows that LSU offense wasn't that good. They averaged 31 pts per game for the season and had plenty of short fields to work with due to the greatness of the defense.
They were 59th in total offense. The defense/special teams scored 9 touchdowns.

Insult is a strong word, but it applies in the context I used it. When you win 3 of the last 4 crystal balls, saying you are top 5 is a bit of an insult IMO.
