Wait seriously, this wasn't just OTC- it's OTC and was legal last season.

Where are you seeing that it was legal last season?
If that's actually the case, you have to feel like the appeals process will go well and the suspension probably lessened to an extent. They'll still want to make an example of him, but he could possibly argue that he didn't know the change was made.

Wow, you really need to reread part of the thread.
no, i really don't. sounds like you're arguing over trivial things (shocker). he bought a substance that isn't illegal to purchase. the fact he bought it on amazon as opposed to otc is irrelevant. what's relevant is he's a dumbass for taking a banned substance, regardless of the fact it's readily available for purchase on amazon or wherever else.

Got curious and read list of banned substances- SARMs were added to the list of NCAA banned substances in this year's rule book but don't show up in last year's.

whatever. now please tell me why it's relevant where he bought banned substances since y'all felt the need to make sure everyone knows he bought it on amazon, a place where you can buy basically anything

Didn't he admit to it and apologize for it in the press conference? Going to be hard to back track on that.

Now Florida has an excuse for losing
At least it is a new excuse. I know one fan base that every time they lose they recycle the same tired excused - Refs, Schedule, opposing team cheated in recruiting, handlers were involved, recruit comes from broken home, REC, Ritter, etc.
I like that we might get to hear a new excuse for losing IF it does happen.

I have a nephew that was suspended for a year for taking an over the counter substance. He said everyone on the team was doing it until he got caught. Some type of growth hormone that you eat. They thought it was a substance that wouldn't show up since it was brand new. He was the only one on the team that was tested that year (which I thought was weird to begin with).

Um... DWI is a bit different in terms of danger, impact, and knowledge of illegality- this wasn't even banned last season.
Jesus, context much? I wasn't saying they were similar in danger/consequences. I was saying that you can be a perfectly good, honest, non-criminal person and still make a mistake that you know is wrong before hand. Especially when you're in your late teens and early twenties. It's called a lapse in judgement and it happens all the time to good people everywhere.

And now you're building a strawman.

The NCAA Sport Science Institute convened a Doping, Drug Education and Drug Testing Task Force in July 2013 (for a list of task force members see NCAA Doping Drug Testing and Drug Education Task Force Members). The purpose of the task force was to provide a broad overview of doping, drug education and drug testing and to address collegiate-specific concerns. A series of three articles published via the Sport Science Institute Newsletter will summarize key task force findings. The first article will cover the historical background of doping and drug testing in sport, and include an overview of performance-enhancing drugs. A second article will review alcohol and recreational drug abuse. The final article will review the drug testing process and future considerations.

o Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators (SARMs): SARMs are drugs that bind to receptors in the body with the intent of increasing anabolic potential (e.g., muscle building and hastened recovery) while avoiding androgenic effects (e.g., the secondary male characteristic effects of testosterone and other anabolic-androgenic steroids

i've been asking a question, not making an argument. so, one more time, and maybe 4th time is a charm. why, in your opinion, does it matter that he bought it off amazon as opposed to over the counter?

And this is exactly why you need to reread part of the thread. Until then we're just going in circles.
