Has any coach ever sat these players down and showed them how much money the average student is charged for college? Tuition, housing, meal plan, books...not to mention the free tutors and preferential scheduling they get, the top of the shelf coaching and strength training they receive?

“unpaid college athletes” is as much as a farce as “peaceful protesters”.

While I agree, I think their issue is not having a real alternative route.

And from a social justice standpoint, age discrimination is bad.

If an 18 year old can cut the mustard, why make a rule that states he cant he hired by the NFL. Unfair labor practices.

If winning 3 straight and 6 of the last 10, or 11 out of the last 30 is owning, then you are correct.

The mutts took advantage of coaching problems at UF when Meyer bailed, but that has been corrected and the series is about to get really interesting.

This is absolutely the truth, in the same way that UF took advantage of Vince Dooley leaving UGA...it is part of the game. UF had the advantage of having one of the greatest coaches of all time during that period with the added bonus of his having never beaten UGA as a player this being hell bent on doing so as often and by as many points as possible as a coach.

Alabama, Florida and UGA have ALL taken advantage of UT's coaching woes....much to our delight and their chagrine. It has always been this way. Mullen may well be the answer...time will tell. Smart may not be...again, time will tell....

It was just comical to see how closely mutt fans keep up with issues at UF.

Not sure why that is comical. it is not even unusual. UF is our main rival.

Who? Is that the transfer from USC with the knee injury that hasn't been cleared to play yet?

So the players who missed the first practice or so have been back?

I'm not sure about Toney but honestly dont care

I'd like to see Pitts Grimes and Copeland get a ton of targets

Also Keon Zipperer since Pitts is gone. Young WRs too mainly Henderson he's a monster already coming out of HS. Get him out there

Why are you asking me rhetorical questions?

If you simply asked who is JT Daniels, I could tell you he is the dude that is going 9 deep on UF this Fall for four in a row.

He hasn't even been completely cleared yet and we're less than a month away from the first snap.

Joe Burrow had some growing pains his first year, I would be very shocked if JT Daniels didn't have any, especially with a bad knee. Especially since you guys were building your offense, apparently, around a mobile QB.

His year with a healthy knee he rushed for -149 yards (-3.3 average) and now that his knee is fricked up he isn't mobile at all.

I really hope your eggs aren't all in that basket.

They aren't. We will beat UF with any one of the three QBs on our roster. Only need to score 20 or so.

Why would he need to be cleared right now? D'Wan Mathis hasnt been cleared for contact either. The fact is, no QB in the SEC is getting contact right now. If one is, then the head coach should be fired.

What stats did Trask have when he was 17 years old starting in a P5 conference, again?

The reality is that we have 2 viable options right now. That is less than 3 which is a step backwards. Mathis has a lot of the same attributes if not better than Newman. But Mathis hasnt played a game since high school. Newman's strength was his experience throwing downfield and in the run game. Mathis has none of that. Like Trask, Mathis is starting behind the 8 ball with decision making due to no starting reps since high school.

Daniels is more talented than anyone else on the roster. But he still is only 19 years old and learning how to be a QB in big time football. I expect a lot of the issues that UGA had with Stafford being groomed to play within himself and the system.

Only difference a lot people act like they know what Mullen's ceiling is at UF whether next yr or 3 or 4 years from now lol

Imo his recruiting is good enough if he finds that game changer at QB

Dak did it 2x at MSU cant wait to see the future of the QB room not named Trask

Mullen is completely different at Fla then in Mississippi

Imo nobody knows his ceiling he's still so young and early into his time at fla where he's been amazing so far jmo

You have four on roster.

JT Daniels.
Dwan Mathis.
Carson Beck.
Stetson Bennett.

Kind of a weak troll, too, but if it makes you feel better about your "clear QB1" sitting out, more power to you.

Trask was a freak

Seemed content to sit behind D'Eriq King instead of transferring

Then seemed content to get his degree and move on from football

Till he was called up and did pretty great

That's just rare af nowadays

That is not the reason he's not been cleared and you know it.

Trask wasn't being touted as some elite running threat.

Mathis is actually surprisingly mobile, and I'm not sure Newman was that much better than he was in that respect, to be completely honest.

That being said: There is no Quarterback on Georgia's roster who looks ready to take over the offense, and they have to do it in a year where the offense is being overhauled. That is just not a great recipe for success.

Wrong. What is the benefit of clearing a QB who cant be touched early? Share with me. Please

Trask wasn't good enough at 17. And you know it.

I'm not sure why you would be surprised at Mathis' mobility. He was listed as a pocket passer in high school. But he is mentioned as the fastest QB that UGA has ever had by older folks with the program.

As for Newman, his running threat was on keepers. He was successful at it. I wont deny that people claim he was not elusive in the pocket. They would probably know better than me. It takes a successful ground game in the SEC to be dominant. A mobile QB makes defending the run much more difficult.

I dont know what to expect from Mathis in a running attack. I know he's fast. That's about it.
