Honestly I don't see why everyone is picking Bama to beat UGA this year. UGA's D is going to give Bama some serious problems (they would have last year too). Plus Bama's D looked SUPER SOFT. If UGA's offense is just decent I think they win that game.

Thanks for the correction. 31 in sum.

Still not sure why you said this:

Brilliant retort. But let's stick to the topic.
I've seen UF win 5 National championships in my lifetime.
3 in football.
2 in basketball.
1 in baseball.
How many have you seen UGA win?

I'm correcting you that you are in the wrong thread for this post.

I'm not admitting that's true, but UGA winning the WLOCP and Florida winning the East anyway is a possibility that's being ignored here

Probably not. Georgia would have to lose two games and Florida would have to win out. I understand that Florida's schedule is a bit easier. But we would Have to lose to Alabama and Auburn (?) I guess? I don't see anyone else beating us. Florida would have to beat LSU and win out, which is possible, though.

People seem to think Kirby and his run atop the East is due for a down year as UF does bring its best team since Mullen's last top ten team.

This UGA defense will be hellacious. I thought the last defense was near elite but this one is just flat out better. Kirby has made all the right decisions, just have see if it pans out with Monken.

Good idea, so lets get to discussing UGA/UF 2020, and our head to head wins in 2018 and 2019 are relevant to that discussion.

This is relevant.
A Georgia team with 9 new starters on offense playing in a new scheme with a new coordinator and a new quarterback. With no spring practice.

What is the starter based on? First game of the season starting 11? A certain number of starts? Pickens and Sayler both started 4-5 games. They both started more than once. In Whites case he only started the last game so I would not consider him a returning starter. What constitutes a returning starter?

I just took Athlon's word for it take it up with them.

A Georgia team with 9 new starters on offense playing in a new scheme with a new coordinator and a new quarterback suggests that this will be a very different attack. Considering the weird offseason that’s been, that favors a team without significant turnover like Florida.

Most of the new starters have starts and that doesn’t even include George Pickens.

C Hill
RG Cleveland
LG Shaffer (beat out Kindley last season).
WR Pickens
WR Robertson
Slot Jackson (had the start at the beginning of the season before breaking his hand).

That's 6 players who earned starts (not due to injury).

There are a lot of key positions with new starters. But we have 10 top 50 recruits fighting for those remaining 5 starting spots.
