It would appear the conference may be shifting back to the way it has always been.

That sentence makes absolutely no sense, FWIW.

Tennessee Down.
Georgia Down.
Auburn Down.
Ole Miss Up.
Florida Up.

Yeah. Conference looks exactly like it always has.

Hell, that's nearly half the conference going against its "historical" SEC trend.

While we're at it.. let's go ahead and make a rule if you beat a cross divisional team in the regular season you don't have to play them again in the Championship Game, since this would also be unfair to give them another shot at beating you, thereby making it harder to get to a better bowl game.

Again.. the vote.. being 2 teams against.. Lsu and Florida.. is because they don't want to play a "hard" game.

Argue all you want, but no reasonable person would think the current inter-division scheduling method is fair. You only make yourself look overly subjective and bias by even trying to argue it.

There may very well be no perfectly fair solution (and that would be a great argument), but certainly the way it is now is not fair.

Except the 10 other schools. So argue all you want.

I actually meant Alabama up and everybody else down. Just saying!! Historically that is how it has usually been.

So your argument is that since 10 out of 12 schools think it's fair, that it isnt?

So make it back to 2 permanent cross rivals and give us Florida. I'd be ok with that. Gotta beat the best to be the best. Again... Tennessee was peaking in the mid to late 90's and you never heard us griping about it. This all boils down to Lsu is scared to play Florida. Suck it up. We play them the next two years and you don't hear us bitchin about it.

Easiest solution...

Only thing holding up the Big12 inter-division scheduling method is Auburn-Georgia and Bama-Tennessee...

All four of those schools are given the option to keep their game. If they choose to, so be it (the other 8 schools go to the "normal" scheduling method with no "locks"). If not, then everybody plays everybody every two years. No player ever goes 4 years without playing Between the Hedges, or in Death Valley, or in bryant-Denney, or in the Swamp.

The SEC will go to this, it's just gonna take some time. In the end, the best way will prevail.

No, it all boils down to me looking at Alabama's 2008 and 2009 SEC Schedule.

If you don't make it to Atlanta, it would be a huge bust given that conference slate.

Look at the 2004/2005 and the 2010/2011.

What you're looking at is that you have to play Florida, plain and simple. You want them off your schedule to make it easier for Lsu.

Anybody got any ideas on why those 6 schools are Ok with the current system?

Umm, no, actually I'm advocating for them to be ON YOUR schedule.

2 permanent interdivision games would be better IMO.

Yeah, there's really no argument against this, except for the bias one.

Everyone knows the current system is unfair to LSU and Florida. It is what it is, though.

They are next 2 years. Again.. we are the only team that has played them 2 times in one year. I don't know why you're griping. You've been fortunate to play them when either they or we have been down and you got to play other teams in the SEC CG. You've never had to face them twice like we have. And you've never had to face them in the CG. There is a good possibility of Bama facing them this year and possibly 2 times in the next year or two if we're fortunate with injuries. But, you don't see us complaining about it.
