• Florida makes its 20th NCAA Tournament appearance, holding a 43-17 record all-time in March Madness. This is the Gators’ 3rd appearance under Mike White, going 4-2 under his guidance.

• This marks the 3rd time Florida has been a 10 seed in the NCAA Tournament, but the Gators are looking for their 1st win in that slot. UF lost to Iowa State in 1995 and to BYU in double overtime in 2010 as a 10 seed.

• Florida and Nevada are among the 21 teams that have made each of the past 3 NCAA Tournaments. The Gators are 1 of only 2 SEC teams to do so.

• Entering the NCAA Tournament, UF leads the SEC in scoring defense (63.6; 21st nationally), ranks 2nd in 3-point field goal percentage defense (.320) and 3rd in turnover margin (+3.0).

• Several Gators rate among the SEC leaders entering the NCAA Tournament: KeVaughn Allen (1st, .892 free throw percentage); Kevarrius Hayes (4th, 2.8 offensive rebounds, 6th, 1.9 blocked shots); Noah Locke (5th, 2.3 3-pointers made); and Andrew Nembhard (3rd, 2.6 assist-to-turnover ratio; 5th, 5.3 assists).

• Florida’s defense has been strong, 14th in KenPom defensive efficiency entering the NCAA Tournament, and has held 10 foes to 57 points or fewer.

• Florida has held 3 opponents West Virginia, Butler and Arkansas more than 30 points below their season scoring average entering the meeting. The Gators have held 11 major conference opponents at least 19 points under the team’s scoring average entering the contest.

• The Gators’ nonconference schedule and overall strength of schedule both rated the toughest in the SEC according to KenPom.

• KeVaughn Allen exploded for 12 of his 21 points in overtime in the win at #13 LSU, the most points in a single OT period by a Gator since Nick Calathes scored 13 vs. Kentucky on 1/19/08.

• Andrew Nembhard’s 9-for-9, 21-point performance in the win at Alabama was the first game with 9+ field goals without a miss by an SEC player in conference action since 1/23/99 (UT’s Isiah Victor in a loss at Florida).

• Keyontae Johnson posted back-to-back doubledoubles in the SEC Tournament with a pair of huge performances, posting 20 points and 12 rebounds vs. Arkansas and 16 points and 10 rebounds vs. LSU.

• KeVaughn Allen (8) and Noah Locke (7) made 15 of Florida’s 18 3-pointers in the win vs. Texas A&M as Allen posted 31 points and Locke added 27. It marked the most 3-pointers ever by 2 Florida teammates in a game.

• Noah Locke has set a Florida freshman record for 3-point field goals, passing Anthony Roberson’s old record of 74, set in 2002-03

• In Florida’s win at Georgia, Keyontae Johnson, Noah Locke and Andrew Nembhard became UF’s first freshman trio to start a game since Jan. 2, 1999, when LaDarius Halton, Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller all started.

• Jalen Hudson scored 33 in Florida’s overtime loss vs. LSU, including 25 of Florida’s 28 points over the final 13:00 of regulation. He scored 16 straight for the Gators in one 6+ minute stretch.

We will live and die by the 3, which is unfortunate, because Nevada has no depth and would be SOL if their guards got in foul trouble.

I'm expecting a 68-58 type loss. Have a feeling we shoot ourselves out of the tourney in the second half.

Had a guy from Canada on my flight through Atlanta. He and some buddies are Michigan fans but picked Jacksonville before the season started to take in some games. He was pissed that Michigan and Michigan State are both in Des Moines and they didn’t pick that one

This is the most intriguing match up of the day imo. I really need Nevada to win because I have them in the Sweet 16. Sorry UF

Musselmann is a good coach. I look forward to that game. Hopefully Yale doesn’t have me crying in my beer

Nevada and UF aren't deep. Will be interesting to see if officials impact the game. We can beat them. Hopefully.

Please pull for Kentucky, Tenn or somebody else.
Gators win, you gotta keep believin". Don't underestimate what good defense can do in the early rounds of the tournament when you are playing teams that are not used to being pressured.

Gators win 70 -58
