Mizzou is a few plays from beating several good teams. It’s football… deal with it. Lost their starting QB for several games, had to start their #3 freshman QB.

You fricks are delusional. Take your starting QB away and see how your record looks. Anything that was said before the season starts was IF they stayed healthy. Nobody thought Zollers would be the starter for several games.

Mizzou's biggest win of the Drinkwitz era was vs Ohio State and their 3rd or 4th string quarterback.

Dumb arse’s like you that keep spewing that narrative are idiots. Go back and watch the game. Mizzou dominated the line of scrimmage. Whomever started would have been on the run. And Mizzou was missing starters on D. OSU’s 2nd & 3rd stringers are better than many team’s #1s. Not to mention, Drink had rebuild the program from the ashes of Barry Odom.

It’s all about money now. We’ll see who can raise the most & get the right players. Money doesn’t always buy a great team, as evidenced at the professional level. The team still has to come together and play well.

NIL - portal has & will continue to change the game. Hilarious the deniers out there.

That’s all we heard OU fans say for the past year.

It's always been all about money.

The game isn't changing as much as you think it is. You will eventually start to understand that.

There are programs like yours that have traditionally been willing to cheat at all costs. There are other programs that were not willing to do that. Now that everybody can pay players there will be changes .I know that is hard to comprehend.

As if anybody is supposed to listen to some uneducated swamper over almost every major expert/ pundit. Ya’ll are funny… they all must be wrong

Why does Mizzou still have back end of the conference talent then?

What expert is saying that some programs cheated and others didn't, but now the field is equal?

MUCH more so for the preseason #9 MIGHTY LSU fighting Tigahs…. From top 10 to deep in the swamp septic tank.
All the while little ol’ Mizzou was preseason #32… 8-4 would be right where you expect them, especially considering Pribula missed significant time & Horn was out after game 1 had to start a freshman QB.

Who ever used the word equal?!

Parity is the future. NIL- portal era is new. Talk to me in 10 years. We will see.

The traditional cheats have a huge leg up after building “tradition” and paying off players to build their programs. Takes time to close that gap. The LSU’s, OU’s etc, had that advantage now, but let’s see where we are at in a decade.

And don’t deny your dirty arse programs paid big & got into bidding wars for players pre-NIL. You’d be lying to yourself

Explain why it takes all of this supposed time.

The kids coming out of high school right now are getting paid by everyone, but they're still going to the traditional powers.

Why is that?

Voice messaging…who cares

How important our high school kids at this point? The transfer portal is probably more important.

And really, how accurate are these rankings anyway? They’re just putting a number on a player that played good in high school. Who gives a Frick when a program can go out and get a known commodity in the portal.

Everyone says this but no portal majority team has actually won a natty yet.

Do some research into the blue chip ratio and get back to me.

If recruiting rankings didn't matter, we'd have G5's and small schools winning natties, but they don't.

FWIW

https://247sports.com/season/2024-football/collegeteamtalentcomposite/

The final four talent composite teams last year:
3. Ohio state
4. Texas
9. Notre Dame
11. Penn state

All recruit top 10ish classes every year and often top 5 classes (esp Ohio state and Texas)

We’ll see who wins this year and the final four to see if that trend holds

How long has there been a transfer portal & NIL?! Small sample size.

You could have the number one recruiting class in the country and you still have to keep paying those players, especially if they have a lot of success after a particular year. There is no loyalty and they can leave so why spend massive resources on recruiting high school kids when they can leave at the drop of a hat. Not to mention, there’s no way to really predict or truly know how a good a particular player will end up being from HS to college until they actually play college ball. Yes, there are many rankings and statistical.data, but in the end it has to translate to success at the next level. Of course there are can’t miss prospects, but in the portal you can find players that have a track record in college. There hasn’t been a team with nothing but transportal players yet, but who knows what the future holds.

The most successful teams in the future will be able to take the money they have and allocate it to the right players to make a quality team, no matter where they acquire the roster. Just like pro teams do.
