I see this thread turned into a Mallett v. Cam thread. Color me shocked!

Pike. The only HS QB to throw a ball at a ref at a camp.
Why does Auburn always get players with a lil extra side of shady ?

Do good, honest kids take the money?

Pike is an arrogant prick. Most people that know of him and have been around him have said this. He will fit in perfectly with the godly group of thugs at AU.

"I want to be trained and taught for the NFL; you do not see spread quarterbacks make it in the NFL," admitted Pike. "That has hurt some great quarterbacks recently in college. One of the top three quarterbacks of the last few years, Tim Tebow, he played in the spread offense and it has hurt him a little bit. Obviously that is going to be a factor in my decision."
Seems he changed his mind about a pro style offense.

Two spread QBs are about to be selected in the top 5 picks of the NFL draft. I can see why.

No kidding. Money talks.

Thanks. Never seen this before. Didn't know Montana was an end of the 3rd round pick.....you never here that?

Not all of the teams are in need of a QB. Mallett has a far greater chance of success in the NFL as a QB than Newton. Newton may play a few years, but at what position? Don't think he will shine as a QB.

What player has ever been drafted as a QB and not played QB?
Wait I know this one! It was Matt Jones! And where did he play in college? Wait for it.... Arkansas!

Matt Jones wasn't drafted as a QB. He practiced as a TE during Senior Bowl workouts and continued to train in that fashion for the draft.

This is true, but the arky poster didn't say that. I just found it ironic that this guy is hating on Cam and talking up Mallet being so much better when their last "great" QB is the one who couldn't make it as a QB.

He got the Nutt deluxe treatment. Petrino woulda had him playing QB for the Cowboys.

It's hard to say what Matt could have done, had he been more mature and been coached well. MJ is unique talent.

You fail to see the point here. You can be a 'great' QB in college running a spread offense (see Tebow) and be totally unprepared to play in the NFL.
I'm not 'hating' on Cam, he's a great athlete. But as an NFL QB, I don't think he's going to make it. Move him to another position, maybe he's got a chance.

Just because you're unprepared doesn't mean you're an automatic bust. It's not like Cam can't learn. Mallett has the upper hand for now, but once they both get 2-3 years on a team, they'll both know all the terminology and have the footwork down. Some people act like spread QBs are incapable of learning an NFL offense

Mallett's absolute lack of mobility and complete lack of pocket awareness will have him killed within his first 3 years in the league.
See: David Carr.

Did you really just talk about "the Devil"??? And how we pray for Jesus to enter into those morons' lives???
Please don't post on behalf of Auburn people anymore.
