I don’t know about #1 pick necessarily but the question was first defensive player from the SEC. And I did say it was a biased perspective.

This time last year, how many would have said Travon Walker would be rake #1 overall?

There wasn't a consensus top 2 defenders last year like there is this year.

If Carter and Anderson had been in the 2022 draft they'd have been Top 5 picks according to almost everyone.

As I said my original post, I think Anderson will be the first pick.

I merely added the additional re: Ojulari to stir discussion and qualified it that is was a biased take.

He's a very good pass rusher for sure. Should have more changes to shine with those DTs having another year of experience under their belt.

You can plug and play lbers in UGA or Bamas system and they will be stars...

Being 60 pounds heavier and just as athletic is harder to come by.

Yea, I'm gonna go ahead and disagree on the Will Anderson being a "plug and play" system player.

Plug him in at UGA and he would be the same player maybe better as we have a far better defensive staff ...

And? What does that have to do with anything? He'd be the best defensive player in America at tons of schools, because his talent is out of this world.

Has anyone said that he'll be the #1 pick because of Alabama specifically coaching him up?

You said the same about Bryce Young before he shite the bed.

A dlineman who can get to the qb like a lber is a defensive coordinators dream in pass heavy offenses.

Good point. I was just making a joke that they'll suck this year.

What in the flying frick are you talking about

He doesn't get to the QB like a linebacker by any statistical metric. He's a very very good pass rusher for a DT. He's not Suh or Donald as a pass rusher.

1 defensive tackle has been drafted in the Top 3 in the last decade. 0 have been Top 2 picks.

He is always around the qb, he is a massive disrupter.

You cant seem to get over that maybe your guy isnt the best....

Will Anderson will be first player taken. Forget SEC or defense....he will be no. 1 pick.

Are there Vegas odds up on next year's draft? Sounds like you should jump on that. Anderson is the no-brainer pick to me, barring injury.

Depending on whether a QB emerges.

Yea, he's an elite DT who will be a Top 5 pick.

It’s going to depend on team need. It could be either Anderson or Carter.

As has been noted, if the team at #1 needs a QB.....it's gonna be a QB.

SOmething to consider- The #1 pick this year was Travon Walker, linebacker from Georgia.

Nobody every said shite about Travon Walker through the season, it was all about Jordan Davis and Devonte Wyatt and Nakobe Dean and other names.

The NFL folks at at least one organization said "this is the guy".

My point is it can be hard to predict.

The team with the first selection needs to determine what they need most, a linebacker or a defensive lineman. If you need a linebacker, you take anderson. If you need DL, you take Carter. I don't think it's a "who is better than who" or "who is more valuable" situation.

Don't ever underestimate that stupidity of GMs out there willing to bet the house on a QB with all kinds of red flags. It happens every year.
