I understand your position. I think Anderson is 0.04 better than Pel in SEC play now. You guys should be loving the improvement considering how deep and talented the SEC is at basketball.

There is no defending Pel for what he did to our program, but keep white knighting for your boy road...

Not knighting for Pel. Really would like to trade him for Grant. I was just acknowledging how much better Anderson is than Pel. #0.04improved

It's time for bed Mrs. Pelphrey

By your logic, I guess Florida should trade Muschamp for Zook.

Wut? I've said Arky should keep Anderson not fire him and bring back Pel. Hell, give MA a lifetime contract. He's 0.04 better than Pel. Why would I suggest bringing Pel back?

almost lost to USC, almost lost me an avi bet. I eagerly await your choice CNB

Hand grenades and horseshoes...

I believe that CNB is currently banned.

Basically for telling one of the aggies to get cancer. I saw it and laughed. There's a thread on the help board to unban him.

I'm certainly not defending his record or his recruiting, but I do believe Pel really wanted to and tried to do well. He just couldn't cut it.
Didn't help that he could never even buy a point guard.
But I thought he represented the UofA and the program with class, all the way to the bitter end. I can't recall a single thing that he did that was 'trying' to hurt the program.

Pel was a great person. No doubt about it.

I've always like Pel, just thought he was a bit over his head considering what was left for him.

He isn't a good coach.
He isn't a good recruiter.
He isn't a good manager of a program.
His recruiting consisted of the best he could get, didn't matter if the player's HS coach told him not to recruit the guy as it would only end badly for all involved, which actually happened, you never hear of that happening.
So he assembled a roster, but no real purpose of assembling it, just roll the ball out on the court and hope they could win.
The guys he brought in were mainly character/academic risks which was basically the only thing that had to be avoided with the APR issues facing the program.
End result? A roster with the tallest guy being a G/F at 6'8", a program losing a scholarship due to APR penalties while facing much more.
Do not give me the BS about how he was learning on the job and it could not have been avoided, this was the exact same result he left USA when he was hired here...
