Jackie Sherril went 3-8 at Washington State in his one season there in 1976 when Pittsburgh hired him to take over for Johnny Majors.

Yes he did, the man hasn't coached a game in the SEC yet, so the jury is still out.

The Jury is in. If you have that record out of the SEC, it can only get worse.

we do have to wait and see but you have to admit it that the hiring isn't looking great. Anything can happen but when yall fired tubbs I was thinking a big name coming in not 5-19

Absolutely agree. However, I have a little more hope/confidence in Chizik due to the coaches he has hired.

Last time I checked, he didn't have his entire Iowa State team transfer to Auburn.

HBT, agree again lol. His record there concerns me, I didn't understand the hire when it happened, and he most definitely was not my first choice. But, he is the coach now and for the most part, he has made pretty solid moves. Only time will tell.

Other than his wife,I must have been the only person who thought it was a solid hire at the time. I was out Christmas shopping and came home to bring some stuff in on the way to another mall and turned the tube on and saw the hire. I thought to myself, wow, good hire. Then I heard about the meltdown the next day on Auburn boards.

Yeah, I remember you were a calming voice to those of us on the Rant. We'll see.....the funny thing is, Auburn always seems to do well when we are in this position. Who knows? I just pray that I don't have to suffer through another season like last year.

Remember DiNardo got promoted to LSU after losing a game 65-0.Yes,it did not end well, but a lot of that was due to his own stubborness.Nonetheless,LSU had its moments in 95-97 with some big wins and some top 10 rankings.

Just pulling your chain.

I still think he will be fired in two years because of losing. Just my 2 cents.

My prediction is it will be worse for the next couple of years until Auburn hires a big time coach. And they will. Lowder wont let them be down long.

Letting Tubby go was a mistake. Hiring Chessewizz was another. You will be begging got a Dinardo or Shula this time next year.

Yes, when Lowder recovers from his losses in this economy. He's taking it on the chin right now.

IMO, the state of Alabama has had some good coaches in the past, that couldn't stomach the Alabama people. I wouldn't be surprised.

Saban cannot stand Alabama people.
