I expect Alabama to get in over SC and Ole Miss. Everyone wants to see Milroe and the 17 year old phenom, Ryan Williams. Ole Miss isn't deserving having lost to lousy teams. South Carolina will be blocked because they are way to good and no one else would have a chance. Texas, UGA and the Vols are already in the field.
OM has some argument with having dominated USCe, and well… you know.

LSU is not mad. they beat both teams that Bama lost to.

Most serious Gumps would likely agree.

They need to do this and put State in everyone’s place. WILD CARD BITCHES!

Why on earth would the committee want to avoid drama? Have you ever watched ESPN?

I’ll have respect for the committee if they leave Alabama out. They let them in last year when Florida State should have been there. Last year Bama probably deserved it because they won the SEC. This year, not so much. Losing to Vandy and Oklahomo should knock you out.

LSU lost 42-13 to a dead program, lol

why would SMU still get in?

Bammers have argued for two years that expanding the playoffs was a pointless exercise.
Now they switched to begging for a 3 loss team to have a chance to play for the title.
Have some dignity and just pipe down.

That's not going to happen. There is no controversy. Alabama has a head to head over South Carolina and a better resume than Ole Miss. The ACC, Big-12, and MWC are all 1-bid conferences now after the results yesterday. The media and coaches both have Alabama at 11th; I expect Alabama to be no worse than 11th in the CFP rankings. The Big Ten and SEC will be 4-bid conferences (Oregon, Penn State, Ohio State, Indiana, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama). Notre Dame gets in as an independent at-large.
If the committee wanted to bury Alabama, they would've done it after the loss to OU but they kept them in position where 2 teams in at-large position with weak records lose and they're narrowly back in the bracket. And guess what happened yesterday?

UGA is in win or lose. They will justify by saying the extra game (conference championship) was not a factor. They will have three 2 loss SEC teams or two 2 loss and one 1 loss SEC team. Everyone else waits on their lower tier bowl destinations.
The only way SEC gets a 4th is if UGA wins. If they lose, PF’s scenario happens.

Miami is not going to be ranked in the top 12 on Tuesday considering how much they fell the last time they lost a game. They have a weak resume and the winning alone kept their position.
Clemson v. SMU largely doesn't matter. Hell, Clemson winning probably pushes Alabama up in seeding. ACC is a 1-bid league after Clemson and Miami lost yesterday.
Georgia will not be punished for the 3rd loss in a 13th game. Nor will Texas losing change the math at all either because Texas would likely just fall a few spots and host a home first round game while Georgia gets the first round bye.

Is Freeze going to turn the Auburn football team around to get to at least 6 wins next year?

quote:True, and then if UNLV beats Boise? Would the committee keep their promise not to punish a team for losing in a conference championship game?
Clemson beating SMU makes it easy for them.
Clemson and SMU would both get in then.
If so, both UNLV and Boise St would also make the playoffs, completing the field. That would not only knock out Bama's chances, but also push out another team that didn't play for a conference championship.
Who would that be? Indiana (one loss), Ohio State (two losses) or Tennessee (two losses)?

This from an LSU fan. How bad did Bama destroy LSU this year?

Do you realize that UNLV and Boise St. are in a lesser conference and don't have a top 25 roster ranking? Those types of teams usually get blown out in Bowl games against teams with top 25 roster ranking.
