Finebaum has been praising their AD all week for getting out of that buyout.

The entire time I was thinking sure, but there's only a handful of better coaches, and they can't get any of them. I was starting to think I was the crazy one.

Curious how he spins this tomorrow.

The reality is that Calipari was justifiably apprehensive to risk laying claim to that money, and the potentially violent response from the unhinged element of the Kentucky fanbase. He did the best thing he could do, walk away from the nutjobs

I can tolerate Paul, but too many of his regular callers make me feel like I'm listening to Lum & Abner.

Finebaum isn't going to spin anything in this situation. He's going to go after Barnhart guns blazing to stir up as much shite as he can.

A bama fan posting about “violent”, “unhinged”, “nutjob” fans…

They are experts, after all.

The idea of pushing Cal out without a buyout was masterful, and Barnhart should be praised for that.

It was a masterful business decision. I'm not sure it wasn't more about Cal knowing he needed a soft landing though. He obviously wants to keep coaching.
