3-3 at half-time. 6-6 at end of regulation. 9-6 after OT. I think both teams played to a stalemate in 1st and 2nd half. LSU played much better in OT. That's it. That was the story of the game in a nutshell. Tie. Tie. LSU in OT.

FWIW, he did not say that.

I waslistening, and at the end of the call, he did. He said, "Alabama dominated for 60 minutes, and then collapsed in overtime." I was driving, but almost stopped to fax him a copy of the game stats. First downs, total offense, time of possession, turnovers, penalties--all very close. The only "domination" that happened was 2 defenses dominating 2 offenses. Whichever team lost would have a superficial claim to having "beaten itself." But neither would be right. Mistakes were made on both sides. Lee threw badly into double coverage twice. McCarron was baited into a throw he shouldn't have made, and Maze threw a dying quail that turned into a jump ball. For heaven's sake, look at the score at the half and at end of regulation. The only "luck" that made any significant difference to LSU was winning the toss before the overtime period.

Great game. We won. You lost. Not by much. But somebody had to win and somebody had to lose. Move on. Rip Moo U a new one. And we will look forward to hosting you in Baton Rouge next November.

to say either team "dominated" would be stupid.

how you score two field goals and dominate someone is beyond me. Until this morning I never knew every field goal try was automatic, either. The things you learn from the Alabama media.

So now they played the same untill OT? I thought Bama played better than LSU the entire game (except special teams) but left points off the board with mistakes

Their best on offense (the Trent Richardson show) was better. Their worst (-17 yards on 19 snaps inside the 30 yard line) was worse. LSU's offense was less effective making positive plays, and less disastrous getting pushed back. (We did manage to get within "comfortable" field goal range as many times as 'Bama).

I guess you tend to see whatyou want to see, but look at the stats. First downs. Total offense. Time of possession (about a 30 second difference). Penalties. Turnovers. Pretty damn even all around (including the score, of course).

It was sarcasm my friend. Many Bama posters have said that, though LSU won, Bama played better.

LSU got past the 39 of Bama only 3 times all game. Once on an INT (GREAT play), once on a busted coverage late in 1st half, and once in OT

Bama got inside our redzone ONCE. We got inside your 10 twice. Ya'll never came close to doing that.

Never making it past the 15 yard line is domination?

This is getting out of control. Bama had 58 more yards than LSU.

In 2009, Tennessee outgained Bama and lost because of the kicking game, and all we heard then was moral victory.

If points were awarded for reaching your opponents 30 yard line, Bama wins this game running away...but until that loophole in the rules is closed by Slive and the SEC...the LSU victory stands!!

LSU Rushing yards 148 > than Alabama Rushing yards 96.

LSU 3.6 yards per carry
Bama 3.1 yards per carry

Yes we were dominated in every fashion. Unless you count running the football, defense and special teams. But other than that......
