The early morning hours were a bitch. Couldn’t even get out of my neighborhood for downed trees. Thing is, when I went to bed there was a 40 percent chance of a “passing shower”

Count yourself lucky if you got it back that quick.

They had a marginal risk for overnight storms. It was expected.

What part, Tony? I'm in central Alabama, too.

Shelby county. We had like 18K without power a couple hours ago. My wife's folks who are 7 miles away said they had a flicker but didn't lose it. Down the street a large bradford pear fell on a house. I guess it was concentrated but it was super intense here.

Absolutely was not just mentioned as a "passing shower" chance.
Severe weather was clearly spelled out for early this morning and for this afternoon.
Even listed days ago the expected hours of the severe weather.
And nailed it
Weather men miss a lot,but they didn't miss this
Neither did I. Power just came back on

This has been a brutal weather month for the Midwest and Southeast in general. Last night was an absolute screamer for Kentucky and Indiana.
June can't get here fast enough.

Here in Alabama, the spring was very mild comparatively.
Only a handful of tornado watches all season.

Still about 50k with no power here in the Bham area.
