after watching the replay that ump should be sat down for the rest of the post season. fricking stupid to throw out the player on that. He hit the catchers glove.

Yeah the catcher was just as bad. Not only threw his arm out but then got in the guys face. That was pretty awful.

He didn't come high with his forearm, the catcher threw his hands up and made look like it. The catcher should have been tossed though.

More importantly.. why can the catcher not be tossed via replay? If it happened it happened, right?

What the hell are you supposed to do when the catcher runs up the third base line and blocks the base path???
It's one thing if the catcher is at the plate and you throw a forearm but when the catcher comes 3 yards up the third base line what the hell was the baserunner supposed to do?? just stop?!?
I don't agree with the ump tossing the USM player for that. That said, the guy should have never been trying to tag on such a shallow fly ball.

regardless, the 3rd base coach is moron for having sent the runner in the first place, he should be tossed for stupidity.

I agree completely JPL. I was talking to my roommate as the ball was coming down saying, "Well that isn't far enough." Then of course it wasn't even close, granted the throw was perfect.
That catcher deserved to be thrown out after that pissy arse display of shittalking and throwing of the ball. Pitiful umping.
