Only listing guys who played as of last year? Wing is kind of a dumb selection, the highest a punter CAN be is a 3-star.

Manziel was a three star due to size only. He set Aa Texas HS total TD record and was the NATIONAL player of the year according to two publications.

Sometimes everybody just "misses" on a player. Patrick Willis was one of those guys. He wanted to go to Tennessee badly, but Ole Miss was the only SEC school to offer. He even academically qualified to go to Vandy, but they wouldn't offer him either.

Here's a nice article on Willis:

Hard to believe Vandy didn't have a spot for Patrick Willis.

Stars and ranking systems for recruits are and always will be full of shite

If a recruit is a 3 star and Texas or USC starts looking at him services will bump him up to a 4 star.

If a recruit is a 4 star and Alabama or Florida don't offer him the services will downgrade him to a 3 star

The keys to success in college football is the player's determination to work hard and have the right attitude and mindset, as well as good coaching to coach that player up to a quality player. It's less about raw talent and ability.

Every one of TCU's touchdowns scored in their BCS bowls were scored by unrecruited walk ons or 2 stars

Every TCU player who has been selected to the pro bowl the past 3 seasons were 2 star recruits

Of the 12 TCU players drafted into the NFL the past 3 years, 11 of the 12 were 2 star recruits.

More proof that it's about coaching and attitude.

If the rankings are so full of shite, then why has the team that has had the #1 recruiting class in the Nation won the National Championship 3 out of the last 4 years? Coincidence?

If the rankings are so full of shite, then why has every single BCS National Champion had at least 2 Top Ten recruiting classes in the 5 years leading up to their title? Coincidence?

If the rankings are so full of it, then why have the 6 best recruiting programs, in the SEC, won every single SEC Title over the last 40 years? Coincidence? over 40 years?

If the rankings are so full of it, then why do 5 star recruits make NFL rosters 25% of the time, 4 star recruits 10%, 3 star players 2%, and 2 star players less than 1%?

There are individual exceptions like there are for everything in life, but as in life, the percentages bear out that the rule, in fact, rules.

Just off the top of my head:
William Moore, 3* - Atlanta Falcons
Aldon Smith 3* - 49ers MVP as voted by teammates this year
Ziggy Hood 3* - Pittsburgh Steelers
Sean Weatherspoon either 2* or 3* - Atlanta Falcons
Chase Coffman 3* - Atlanta Falcons
Martin Rucker 3*
Michael Egnew 3*
Chase Daniel 3*
