The greatest QB of our generation could only lead you to an 8-4 record. You lose him, a monster at WR, and a top 5 draft OL and you will be 'more balanced and dangerous'. You guys are so adorable.

One has nothing to do w the other.
He was the greatest QB.
He wasn't the greatest DB/LB/etc.
There's only so many points an offense can score--and Johnny scored em.
To make our struggles about having a somehow deficient offense is disingenuous.
I believe that what the poster was saying is that our defense can't be any worse.
And yes--that it will be more balanced.

ETA - I'm not saying that A&M's offense is going to go to shite. I'm just saying that JFF himself kept you in a TON of games over the past two seasons.

Yes that is true, but could you be ignoring the talent we are stacking across the board on offense and defense???

Johnny was the perfect person at the perfect time to bridge the gap and keep us from a tough first two seasons and provide ridiculous recruiting momentum.

But David Ash could put up significant numbers with the freak talent/height/speed we are stacking on offense. It's going to be fun to watch a guy like Kyle Allen throwing to these guys...and watching us use our freak tight end and 5-star running backs more.
