Alabama switched for good to crimson helmets with a white stripe and numbers, other than a couple seasons in the 60s and 80s, in 1960. The basic design of the uniform can be traced to 1946, as I've already stated.

You switched to red helmets with numbers on the side two years after Arkansas. We switched to the hog on the side in 64, Texas followed with only the longhorn in 67.

OU's current design came about in 66.

Did you switch in 1958, or not? Alabama switched for a full season in 1960. They had been used prior to that. And I don't see how it's copying if Alabama was using white helmet with a crimson strip and number on the side since the 40s. The color scheme was just changed in the 1960s.

Guess ours weren't "traditional" enough to keep the old design.

Good grief. Oklahoma, Arkansas and Alabama are all 'crimson and white'. How did any of you 'copy' the other one ?

Maybe Arkansas copied theirs from Indiana.

Actually SC's Underarmour uniform's look great IMO. Wouldn't trade for old school look. Take Bama for example their tradition is second to none in college football but the unis and helmets are brutal. IMO its the only thing that is not amazing about that place. Purple tops and yellow pants at home in DV is about my favorite old school look in the SEC! Bama fans plz don't freak out about this post remember I said everything about your school and tradition is amazing don't crucify me because I'm not a fan of the 1960's unis.

UGA has the coolest in the SEC, followed by LSU, Auburn, and Alabama. I like the Tennessee design but that orange is a little offensive.

We switched to a red shell in 52. Added face masks in 55, added numbers in 57, added the hog in 64.

OU had white helmets until switching to crimson in 66.

We had solid red tops, red shells, white pants with red stripes, first, Bama and OU followed.

Again, all Alabama did was switch the color scheme in 1960. How is that copying when crimson had been the main color since the 1890s?

Where did I say colors?

I said design.

Arkansas was first to use a solid red top with white numbers, white pants with red stripes, red helmet with white numbers and later a logo.

Think harder before posting next time...
