You do understand Ohio State ran a 20-30 million dollar deficit last year. That’s not a sustainable business model. Also that 20million is to be stretched out over ALL athletic programs. This would be the equivalent of the NFL funding MLB, NBA and all of women’s sports and all pf them operate at a deficit. This is not even remotely sustainable.

If a player gains popularity and the fanbase loves him enough to where a John Deere dealership wants to pay the kid for commercials or whatever I'm frickin fine with it.
But millions of dollars for a roster every year? Kids and their families with representation always looking for their next cut? Wild west waiverless portal hopping?
I'm the frickin old man now I guess but this shite ain't great anymore.

CFB is no longer college football. These kids are getting a scholarship worth more than $100,000 and extra money on the side. No longer amateur sports
Add to that they can skip from school to school on a whim. It is endless free agency with no contracts. Sounds great for the fans!

The athletic departments will become for profit businesses, owned by the universities, who in turn license the school name, brand, logo, and real estate. Players will not be students and will be on the payroll and under contract. The SEC & Big 10 will create a super league mirroring the AFC & NFC of the NFL.
That’s my take on the future of college football.

This! Or at least neutered to the point a player can’t transfer for the first 3 years. You have 5 to play 4. The first 3 should be with who you signed with out of HS. Kinda like pro sports do. No rookie in any pro sport will be an FA before 3 years in their league short of being cut or DFA. After all, they’re being paid a portion of revenue now. I could care less about coaching changes. Coaching and playing are two completely different things. It happens in every sport and every job in America. It sucks, but life isn’t always easy.
