Damn look at Kerryon go.

Those UGA defenders didn't want any of our OL running down the sideline.

Look at # 20-something coming in at the top of the screen then backing off. Must have been a business decision.

If you want to see a real analysis, here's Chip Kelly breaking the play down.

Hey Georgia, see that guy with the ball? He has like half of Auburn's yards and TDs this year. Might want to pay attention to what he is doing.

This is basically exactly what I said when watching it... it was exceptional play call/design. Everything about that play screamed it was going the other way... once the ball was thrown that way I was like... well frick... it's either a TD or first and goal.

As to 24 backing off (I'm assuming that's who people were pointing to), I'm not sure there's anything he can do that changes the outcome really... he seemed to be in what I call "can I pass" mode when driving... was trying to accelerate to get around the running OL but had a bad angle on it, then tried a decel/accel type action to go behind and around but it was too little too late...

Just another example of everything going right for Auburn/wrong for UGA... Aubie played like they had nothing to lose and everything was on the line... perfect execution. Tip of the cap... maybe get a rematch in Atlanta. My gut says neutral field and a healthy dose of reality/humility now for the dawgs at least makes the game closer, but no clue if we can fix some of the more fundamental issues of flat out getting beat on the LOS both directions. Offensively, going to have to have some kind of answer to press man coverage. It didn't seem that Auburn was committing that many bodies to stop the run, but they were disguising well when they were actually *playing* the run... I think this led us to running plays that likely should have been called passes early, by early in the third when Aubie scored the TD off of the muffed punt it was pretty much open season for the DL to tee off on Fromm more often than not...

I do now have to ask the very real question, which is how in the frick did you guys not only give up a 20 point lead to LSU, but not score in the second half? I missed the whole second half of that game, but now kinda wanna go back and watch... Giving up 20 points is fine, but the offense that I saw on Saturday should never go 30 minutes without scoring... shite... you literally only have to get the ball to the opponent's 40 yard line or so with Carlson's leg...

Poor containment by us, but just a fantastic play call.

It was Gus' stubbornness. We ran the ball 17 times in a row on first down. There have been several threads about AU fans wanting to can Gus at the beginning of the year, and now we love him. Personally, I've always wanted Gus to be the guy. His problem is he can't get out of his own way sometimes. Honestly, he's like the coach from The Water Boy -- you can laugh but it's spot on. Gus is completely capable of calling great games (A&M and UGA this year), but other times it's completely frustrating and leaves the fan base dumbfounded (2016 & 2017 Clemson, 2017 LSU).

EDIT: A lot of AU fans are still not back on the Gus Bus quite yet, but we're hoping he learned his lesson after LSU this year. Play to win, don't play not to lose.

Its the reason that Gus is on the hot seat.

After we got a huge lead, we ran the ball on over 90% of the 1st and 2nd down plays for the rest of the game. (outside the last drive when we were beaten) . The play calling was beyond stupid. It is what caused my biggest melt of my lifetime.

LSU is not better than Auburn. Coaching retardation allowed them to win. Just like Troy is not half the team LSU has but coaching retardation allowed Troy to win.

Seriously, our HC thought our defense could hold a 9-point lead. We went completely conservative until it was too late.

Worst part was, he was right - LSU didnt' do a damn thing on offense either, the go ahead FG drive was a whopping 19 yards, and the final FG was a gimme after we went four and out from our own 25. The Chark punt return TD was the difference.

Why didn't Kirby call off the blitz? He had to know we audibled to that play after they showed twice that they were going to send the LBers.
